About Venue
A beautiful and historic 16th century castle set in the lowlands of the South West of Scotland. The venue is located on the banks of the river Cree next to the quiet and picturesque town of Newton Stewart. The estate is private with 30 acres of woodland and large lawns which can hold any size marquee. There is plenty of available parking for cars and coaches. The castle benefits from having a grand and warm entrance with log fire places and regal hall ways. These lead to the lounge, bar and ball room. The ball room is modern and is of large capacity with the ability to hold up to 120 seated guests depending on table and seat configuration.

Very happy with our stay. Room was clean, excellent shower, good location for a short drive for the Wigtown Book Festival. WiFi worked well too. Very aware this is personal preference, but the mattress was very soft. Due to back issues, I prefer a firmer mattress. However, I'm sure there are many people out there who prefer a soft mattress. I would recommend, and certainly use again.
