The Dukes Head is an amazing hotel, from the minute you step inside you can tell the type of hotel this is, very luxurious. Check in was fast and efficient, thanks to the very helpful Shannon, very kind and helpful. We stayed in room 7, the “Bishops” room, it was more like a suite, separate bedroom and lounge areas, very clean crisp white cotton sheets, coffee machine, kettle, safe, tea and coffee. Tv in the “lounge” and bedroom. Beautiful high ceilings throughout, nice clean bathroom with waterfall shower. Would recommend if you’re in the area looking for a luxurious and comfortable hotel.

Really enjoyed staying at the Duke's Head. The room was up to date, in a hotel with period features. The location is fantastic. The car park is tight and busy but it worked for us. Next day we stayed in another hotel, twice the price, smaller room, similar parking, worse location. The Duke's Head was excellent value, even at twice what we paid. We stayed two nights and the room wasn't serviced in-between, but they would have if we asked and I felt that's a great way to provide great value. I don't need clean sheets every day. Well done.

I recently stayed at the Duke’s Head in King’s Lynn and overall had a very good experience. The hotel itself is lovely and centrally located, right in the heart of town, which makes it perfect for exploring the area. I was fortunate to be given a free upgrade to the Campbell Room, which was tastefully decorated and a nice touch. The room overlooked the market square, which was a great view to have, though it did come with some downsides – at night the noise from nearby pubs carried up, and with no air conditioning in the room, the window needed to be open, which made it difficult to get a completely restful night’s sleep. The room itself was comfortable, with a good-sized bathroom that was clean, fresh and modern. The bed was extremely comfortable, though it was a shame there were no plug sockets or USB ports by the bedside, which would have made things a little more convenient. Breakfast the next morning was enjoyable, with a decent choice between continental items and a full English. Everything was cooked well – not greasy or overdone – and a good way to start the day. Parking was straightforward. Although the hotel has its own car park (which I didn’t use), I parked in the market square directly in front of the building. For 18 hours it cost £7.70, which I thought was reasonable given the location. All in all, the Duke’s Head is a very nice place to stay, especially if you want to be in the centre of King’s Lynn. With just a few small improvements, it could be excellent.

Stayed at the Dukes Head over the weekend for a wedding and was left quite disappointed. Our room’s air conditioning didn’t work, and since it overlooked all the vents, it became uncomfortably hot. Even worse, the water in both the sink and bathroom didn’t drain properly. Despite reporting it twice to reception, nothing was done, and we ended up flooding the bathroom multiple times. It felt like the staff didn’t care. The best part of the hotel is the location – very convenient for getting into town. However, I would strongly recommend skipping the hotel breakfast; The Globe nearby serves two breakfasts for £12, compared to £25 for two at the hotel. Parking is also an issue: it’s very limited on-site and more expensive than using Tuesday Market Place just nearby. Overall, it’s handy for the town, but the poor room conditions and lack of response from staff really let it down.
