About Venue
Since 1858, Salters Steamers Ltd has been providing exceptional boat charters on the River Thames in Oxford. Our large fleet of vessels is ideal for hosting corporate functions, meetings, AGMs, summer parties, anniversaries, and Christmas parties. Our boats can accommodate up to 50 guests seated for meetings or conferences and up to 150 guests with outer deck areas. Companies often take advantage of our facilities, enjoying a private river cruise along with catering options like fork buffets, finger buffets, and BBQs. We also offer entertainment and an onboard bar for a complete event experience.

We had a wonderful journey on "Reading" from Oxford to Abingdon, just under 2 hours. The boat had good seating outside at the back where we sat, also under an awning at the front as we travelled through lovely scenery and 3 locks. The bar below had a good selection of cold drinks: wine also soft drinks in an area with seating if it rained. There were toilets on board. A lovely way to spend an afternoon on the water.

An excellent 2.5hr trip on a delightful small electric boat with wicker seats. Very classic! It was a very hot day so perfect for a river trip. The Steamers staff are very helpful and our helmsman gave us a running commentary on the sights of interest. We travelled both directions to Iffley lock and out to the meadows. Thoroughly recommended.

An excellent River cruise today with Phil, served Prosecco once seated on the boat then as we motored along Phil shared a wealth of knowledge of the local area and beyond, Phil is a real asset to the River cruise team.

Easy to book on line in advance although you can pay as you board too. Landing station in Marlow was very convenient and easy to find. We did the 40 minute trip to Temple Lock and back which was very enjoyable, with commentary regarding sights along the river on the outward journey. Coming back, just a peaceful trip in the late afternoon sunshine. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
