We really like this pub for its big garden and outdoor seating — it’s a great spot where my kids can play around and burn off energy while I relax. However, the food is honestly very underwhelming. We ordered a burger and it came without a single tomato slice, no cheese , some lettuce — just plain meat with barely any flavor. For the price, the food doesn’t deliver. If the kitchen stepped it up a bit, this could be an amazing all-around spot, not just a place to grab a beer.

Went for sunday lunch. Meat was tasty however the vegetables are disappointing. Cabbage is fine but a cheap filler, and you only get half a large carrot. Could have done with more carrots! Dessert also disappointing.Apple crumble was tasty but not crumbly! It was a layer of dust. Not sure why people cant get crumble right any more. It was served with a piddly little "jug" of custard so asked for more. I suspect they were trying to hang out what little they had left. If you come too late they start running out of food. I'd rather they said they didn't have it rather than scrape the bottom of the pot. Service was good from the person who served us but they couldn't save the disappointing lunch. Considering how popular this pub is why can't they do it justice with the food?

Awful experience at leather bottle last night. Went for a friends birthday where we enjoyed most of our evening outside, no complaints there. Ordered a five pound side salad as you can see from the picture, one literal tomato and some soggy rocket and lettuce and the lamb kofte starter which was awful and over priced considering the size of it. When asked to move indoors later in the evening one security guard was very polite but his “boss” (he made a point of saying I’m the boss so what I says goes) was rude, unnecessarily forceful and inappropriate. I’m sober so felt very very shocked by his behaviour to our group, a few were tipsy but no one was acting in an indecent way and just because we said we will move inside at 11pm when the law states we should be he said he would kick us out…make that make sense! Then at the end of the evening he thought it would be a good idea to put his hands on my back and pushed me forward towards the street as the pub was closing. I said do not touch me and he removed his hand but as a woman I found this disgusting. He might get away with it with people who had been drinking but I was very aware he was abusing his authority all night and I think it’s a horrible reflection of a great pub, none of our group of 30 will be returning.
