Went to a private function here on a Saturday night. Wasn't too busy, seemed to have a nice relaxed atmosphere. Staff friendly and attentive. Good drinks selection across the board and the buffet style food was delicious. My ideal type of pub!

Family get together for Sunday lunch. 3 roast lamb and a duo. Food was lovely, really nicely flavoured and good portion size. We ordered 2 sides - pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese which was delicious. Warm brownie, sticky toffee pudding and ice cream for dessert. Mulled wine very much enjoyed. Service was great, polite friendly and welcoming. Very enjoyable experience.

I recently visited the Princess Royal Hogs Back pub for a Christmas lunch, and it was absolutely delightful! The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of festive flavors—truly a perfect start to the holiday season. Lovely atmosphere for a Wednesday afternoon and friendly service made the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place. I’ll definitely be back for more!

A very beautiful and well-designed hotel with friendly staff. The only downside was the room which was next to a busy road. You could be easily disturbed by the noise coming from the road nearby during the night. The room itself was very clean and stuffed with lots of luxury and old- fashioned furniture. I didn't try the dinner but the breakfast was included and it was average standard and the service was quite quick. Recommended.

Booked for family meal. Limited menu but everything we had was good quality. Fish and chips was huge, Shepherds pie was excellent made with pulled lamb.
