Wow what a place! Wild swims with seals, surf lessons, sunsets around the firepit, searching for shells - so many good memories!! Thank you Dunnett's for sharing this magical place in the north of Scotland!

Our stay at The House of the Northern Gate was nothing short of extraordinary. Nestled at the northernmost tip of mainland Scotland, the house offers a rare combination of grandeur and warmth—it's stately without being stuffy, luxurious yet completely welcoming. We were a Family of 17 to include 7 children. The interiors are beautifully restored, with elegant furnishings, cozy fireplace, and thoughtful touches that made us feel at home. And completely comfortable with the young ones. Waking up each morning to panoramic sea views and the sound of seabirds was pure magic. What truly sets this place apart, is the atmosphere—it feels like stepping into a timeless world. Whether you're sipping a scotch by the fire or looking for the northern lights from the terrace, there's a deep sense of connection to the landscape and the history. On top of all this is a host that is very attentive, full of knowledge and more than willing to help make your visit one to remember forever! Highly recommended for anyone seeking a unique Highland adventure. I wish I could give more stars!
