I stay regularly at the Chesford Grange as my parents live close by. We always really enjoy our time here. We've been lucky enough to stay in a superior family room this year and the kids love it - lots of space for all of our things. The beds are really comfortable and I've never been disturbed by any noise coming from other rooms or the corridor. The air-conditioning also worked really well over the hot August days. The swimming pool is great, and nice and quiet if you go in the morning. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, I especially want to give thanks to Monika and her reception team who are always on hand to help with any issues. See you again in December!

Their spa package is poor value unfortunately. It was a birthday gift so on day, tried to make best of a disappointing experience. A large part of the cost is robe and towel hire and use of their spa, this is the biggest issue I had with the package. The "spa" is a small pool with mould on the ceiling and a steam room with a loud motor sound. It's not a decent standard for a 4 star hotel. It was neither relaxing nor felt clean. Lunch secondly, even with a glass of prosecco is not worth it even though it's marketed as light. The hotel have tried to address my disappointment but essentially have suggested I should have mentioned my issues on the day. I felt uncomfortable and did not want to further upset myself and my friend (whom I'd bought as a guest). They even said according to CCTV we were smiling (creepy). I do have to say the masseuse was great, a Spanish lady called Suzanne. I wish she was freelance! I feel it fair to share feedback for future guests, try the massage but forget the spa package. I left my phone in the locker so am providing no pictures.

On arrival the reception looked very nice and the service from the reception team were great. It is clear refurbishment works are ongoing but the main issue for me was that the people occupying the hotel were elderly and there were plenty of walking sticks and walkers to be seen. I am not being critical of the elderly residents but it wasn’t environment that I wanted to stay in. Breakfast was a very good offering but once again I felt to be dining in an old persons home. I realise my time will hopefully come, where I too will be elderly, but at present I will look elsewhere when staying away from home and working in the area.

We spent three nights at the hotel. On the first day, I had to go and request the room to be cleaned. The second day we were out and returned at 9:30pm to find the room not made and the dirty towels left in the bath tub as requested. We ran out of toilet paper and tissues. The restaurant staff were excellent. Housekeeping was poor. Even with this experience, the hotel did nothing to compensate us. We were there for a wedding reception. So will not stay there on our own. We spoke to the person at the front desk at 9:30 pm who went to the room and took photographs showing the room was not made and also left us fresh towels. So we did lodge a complaint. The manager’s response is wrong.

Stayed last weekend for work event, to have to be moved three times, for the price rooms are substandard and not clean, more attention to detail needed from the housekeeping and maintenance team. The basics are a clean room with a comfortable beds it’s not too much to ask for. Lady on receipt in was super helpful, I emailed pictures of concerns and have had no acknowledgement or formal apologies for inconvenience. I’m not a fussy traveller, but cleanliness and items in the room should work, or at least be fitted correctly, Series of pictures from the 3 rooms! Didn’t help that there was a wedding going on also, yet no one seemed to care about the kids running up and down the stairs or corridors. Sadly not a great stay, and won’t be returning.
