Located just outside Lichfield, Staffordshire, the School House Restaurant is hidden gem of a wedding venue in the Midlands.
Set within 11 acres of private grounds and surrounded by beautiful rolling fields, the venue boasts elegant views and provides the perfect backdrop for your important wedding photos.
It can be daunting organising a wedding, however here at The School House you will not have to worry as you’ll get all the support you need. We have over 20 years of experience in organising weddings; our approach to your special day is to tailor everything to your needs, from drinks at the reception to the creation of your individual menu with choices of each course on the day.

There are many variations of rooms and menus available for you to choose, the enclosed menus offer some suggestions. We believe we are unique in our ability to offer a choice of menu to your guests on the day after all it’s not always easy to decide what you want to eat before the day is it?

All rooms are offered for Civil Ceremonies meaning we are also unique in our ability to offer you a venue for your service and reception whether you have 4 or 150 guests. We have rooms in Manley’s brasserie and the large Wyatt pavilion. You’ll all enjoy wonderful views from The Restaurant’s delightful lounges leading onto the patio area, making a superb backdrop for your wedding photographs or The Wyatt pavilion overlooking Black Brook and Weeford meadows, makes this a truly magnificent setting for your Wedding. You have the flexibility to tailor your special day and we will do whatever we can to make sure you remember it with happiness for many years.

To all the staff at the school house Thank you for a memorable day celebrating hubby's 70th. We had the private dining in St Mary's room. Set out beautiful with plenty of space for our large party. Food was amazing, hot and full of flavour. Not one complaint. Two grandchildren loved their meals. Nothing was too much trouble. Please pass on our sincere thanks to everyone

Went with my partner on Sunday, as my birthday treat. Let's deal with the place itself first. Wonderful location and great atmosphere. Very much a destination venue due to location. Service: I was going to score this a 5, as I thought it was relaxed and unintrusive, with staff doing everything they could to make the experience smooth and enjoyable. My partner thought the service was slightly tardy. If I could give this a 4.5, I would. Notwithstanding this, there were no real issues. Food: a great choice on the Sunday menu and, at just over £32 for 3 courses (excluding supplements), felt great value. The food was cooked well, so no complaints there. I chose the Roast Beef and, for me, this is where it goes from a 5 to a 4. The plate arrived at the table slathered in thick gravy. I couldn't see the meat for it. Imho, it would be better to serve the gravy in a jug, so that the amount can be controlled. Not affecting my score, but perhaps any future menu choices, I prefer slightly less thick gravy and roast potatoes less crispy. That's personal preference though and I know others enjoy that style. Would we come back again? Definitely!!!

Attended this venue with for a post funeral/wake of a friend. A really nice venue. A very good use of space in the function room. The bar service could be improved a little as it was slow but staff were really pleasant and friendly. Venue looks great for weddings with plenty of space outside. The owners could do with considering some better air quality options like air conditioning on the warmest of days as the portable fans they just wasn't up for the job. Parking is a little limited but due to location they seem limited on options to improve this. Overall though a really nice venue and definitely recommend.
