Lauren the young lady on reception was absolutely amazing she helped me out with a situation that I had with a pleasant smile and warming presence. It was so nice to have someone greet you so kindly on arrival and to be so helpful. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the restaurant is really nice too. A really nice place to stay

Milford Hall is a 20 minute walk from the train station, but only a few minutes from a bus stop bearing its name. Its a 10 minute walk to the shopping area, and about 20 to the cathedral and fabulous museum. My luggage was stored for me after I turned up earlier than expected, and the reception area appeared very clean and well maintained. When I checked in later that afternoon I did have to step over a contractor in the hallway - there is renovation work being done - but it was a short walk and a small staircase up to my room, which was nicely decorated and clean. I had a good nights sleep - after the hotel guests who sound like a herd of elephants shouting at a football match in the corridor, I swear they follow me around - also shut up and went to sleep! Breakfast was small but perfectly formed, with a lovely welcome and very nice, good quality food. I judge a buffet breakfast by its scrambled egg, which is often watery or rubbery, but it was perfect! There was a bit of harsh construction noise outside just before I checked out - a jack hammer breaking up concrete outside of my window - it was unpleasant but not early enough in the morning to disturb my sleep. All in all, especially given the reasonable cost, I would stay here again, once the renovation works are done there wouldnt be much else negative to say. Nothing hotels can do about thoughtless guests! In fact I have already recommended it to a friend.

I genuinely loved this hotel. The bed was comfier than a cloud, and the pillows were so heavenly I contemplated smuggling one. The ladies at breakfast were attentive, and the food options were plentiful. My only gripe is they charged me £7 for parking.

Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. The afternoon tea was as pictured very nice. Bedroom was clean and spacious, tho wasn't happy someone had been our room to put condiments in on the 1st morning we were there. Bathroom was lovely and a decent shower. Breakfast not as pictured but saying that it was very nice and nicely arranged with lots of options.
