We were looking for a reasonable and tasty meal early on a Friday evening...thinking most places would be full as it was already very late afternoon we booked on line. We found the Botanist fairly heaving when we arrived and feared a cramped noisy table, however we were shown upstairs to a lovely decorated restaurant by a friendly waiter, nothing was to much trouble for him it seemed and so it was. Understand this is not fine dining but it is a cut above the usual pub menu and very enjoyable it was. Brilliant service, good food at a great price...what more could you ask for!

Had a wonderful bottomless brunch yesterday the drinks and food were very nice especially the espresso martini and elderflower fizz. We were attended to promptly and politely by the wonderful Angel who was lovely and kept us all stocked on the necessities. Would highly highly recommend.

We weren't sure if we wanted food or just drinks. We settled on just drinks, the bartender was friendly, and the drinks were nice. Pubs aren't really my scene, but once I'd settled in, I found the atmosphere nice and relaxing. I think coming in on a weekday helped. I can imagine it being a nice place to come in the evening, though.

Menu has changed since my last visit and some items missing. Food was pretty good and drinks selection was varied. Service was exceptional and we were well looked after by a very busy server who did really well considering the heat and how busy it was.

It was fine - food and drinks nice, no draft beer because of the heat. Bar service only where we could sit hence the lower stars as that wasn’t what we went for. Prices have increased a bit with the new menu though I understand this (general cost of everything!). Key reason for my review is to highlight that it is no longer dog friendly in the restaurant- you can sit in the bar which was fine on a quieter Sunday afternoon but realistically it’s no longer somewhere you can go out to eat and bring a dog, most of the time. Good news for some I am sure, but it was a bit disappointing for me and I expect will be for others who have been before!
