£17.00 entry but it is valid for a whole year. Well worth a visit. Lots of interesting museum pieces, some interactive and well laid out. Enjoyed it here.

Fantastic museum, friendly staff and a huge variety of things to see and do. I especially liked the 60s area and the jail. Working in a jail museum myself it was nice to see the similarities and contrasts and the presentation was great. The highlight of the visit was the Victorian street which showed a great mix of those times. Costumed staff even did talks which added to the experience. Highly recommend a visit!

Visited on a Monday in the summer holidays, didn't book in advance, turned up at about 10.50am. Slight queue to get in but that's to be expected in the summer holidays. Definitely worth a visit, lots to see, the Victorian street was really interesting with shops you could go in, around the museum at various points there were clothes you could try on. Have been to several museums but not one like this before

This is a lovely museum and worth the visit and extensive history and the streets are amazing. I feel the only reservations I had were that the machines cost money eg 50 per to use which I feel is unfair considering you pay for the entry fee. Plus the confectionery shop was shut and that also was to pay and only cash so it costs extra for other things, the world war exhibition I feel was quite smaller and there could have been better things to do there also. However overall it is a museum worth the effort to do.

Brilliant museum, lots to look at and explore. Entry fee is costly but you can return any time throughout the year, but not as useful if you've travelled far. My favourite exhibition was the prison, I felt it was very informative.
