Whether you are planning a big, extravagant wedding or a more intimate celebration, Goldsborough Hall offers a unique and unforgettable venue for your big day.
The Hall stands in 12 acres of perfectly landscaped gardens with stunning views of the surrounding parkland. This historic 17th-century building, once home to HRH Princess Mary in the 1920s, and its idyllic setting make the perfect backdrop for your big day. Goldsborough Hall is licensed to hold civil marriages and partnerships and our award winning chef will provide exceptional, delicious dishes for your wedding breakfast.
When you hold your wedding at Goldsborough Hall, the venue and its grounds are available on an exclusive basis, meaning there will be no interruptions and you will have the full attention of their dedicated team. The oak-panelled Jacobean library, the Drawing Room and Dining Rooms, designed by Robert Adams are all included in the venue hire. For larger weddings a marquee may be joined to the hall, which can accommodate 250 guests.
Next door St Mary’s Church has a private entrance to the grounds of the Hall and is the ideal setting for a church wedding before a reception at Goldsborough.
And so that you and your guests can spend the night in the home of a former princess, there are 12 luxury 5* suites and rooms in the Hall and in the newly refurbished Dower House.

I used to work security on this when it was getting converted, I never believed in ghost stories until you experience it, Goldsborough Hall has its royalty connection when several of the Queen Elizabeth dogs was buried in the grounds and several of her children suddenly passed away with pneumonia, there is a pet cemetery there also just further down from the main entrance and the scratches on the main front door are to be believed those of the queen's dogs. The Hall is absolutely stunning and has a church right behind it, there also used to be a dome between the church and the hall which maybe been a sign of a former institute for the clinically insane. It really is a stunning place but me and mate never went back after what we witnessed.....loved working here but never again

Lovely staff, Dawn on reception was great 👍 The gardens are amazing 👏 Lots of history to the building. Still owned by a family who have done a wonderful job restoring the building. Restaurant is a perfect location for special occasions.

We stayed in several locations across the UK over the course of our two week trip. This place was the absolute best. The care that they put into making it a memorable and enjoyable experience is incredible. As an example, I noted that I was lactose intolerant when completing my booking. They used that information to craft a bespoke menu for me for the tasting so that I could enjoy my 6 courses without worry and missing out on anything! They even paired my meals with wine. Incredible hospitality and attention to detail. I've never felt so seen by a place! We can't wait to come back someday.

The food here is truly 5* – an excellent tasting menu, beautiful dining room, and one of the best breakfasts I’ve had. However, the accommodation is mixed. Many rooms are in a separate wing that feels more like a Premier Inn than a luxury country house. Our “luxury” room overlooked the staff car park, with stained blinds, frayed fittings, fake flowers, and an awkward bathroom design with a basic electric shower. Take care when booking – some rooms deliver the country house feel, but others fall well short of the luxury promised on the website.
