Hollins Hall Hotel & Country Club, Hawksworth

We spend 2 nights in this very beautiful hotel. The staff was friendly and nice. The place in the countryside, very quite place to relax. Nice garden and the golf course even good for walk in the nature. Well equipped rooms, very clean bathroom, comfortable beds. Just the pilots are high and only 1 type. Definitely I would recommend this hotel!

We had a fantastic stay overall and were thoroughly impressed with the 4-poster suite we booked. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that attention to detail and guest comfort were a priority. The suite was the definition of modern luxury—spacious, tastefully decorated, and spotlessly clean. It definitely added a special touch to our trip and made the experience feel indulgent. The room itself offered a generous layout and elegant furnishings, with thoughtful design elements throughout. However, there were a couple of areas where we felt some improvements could be made. Most notably, the suite did not have air conditioning, which was surprising given the premium nature of the accommodation. While the room remained bearable, it did get uncomfortably warm at times, particularly during the night. Another drawback was the mattress. It was extremely firm, which may suit some preferences, but for us, it impacted our sleep quality. Additionally, the double bed was made up of two single mattresses pushed together, which created an awkward and uncomfortable ridge down the center—not ideal for a suite of this caliber. The lighting system in the room, while sleek and modern, proved more frustrating than functional. With multiple buttons controlling different zones and features, it was unnecessarily complicated for a short stay. We found ourselves frequently referring back to the provided diagram just to operate the basics, which took away slightly from the otherwise seamless experience. During our stay, I also had a chance to glance at a few of the other rooms. It appeared that while some bathrooms were a bit dated in style compared to the newer suites, they were still very clean and fully functional. It seems the hotel is gradually updating its interiors, and the overall standard of cleanliness throughout the property was excellent. Despite a few minor inconveniences, we genuinely enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the hotel—especially if you’re considering one of the beautifully appointed suites. With just a few tweaks, it could be truly exceptional.

We had our wedding at Hollins Hall this weekend and Tanya, the coordinator was phenomenal. The event space was all set up for us, and she was on hand throught the day events to help with anything we needed. Almost all of our 60 guests stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and had high praise for the food, staff, rooms and facilities. The wedding package made planning easy, with various menus and price points, it was easy to tailor it to us. Can't praise the reception, wait staff and bar staff enough, they were all lovely and helpful!
