The rooms….
Whatever size your party, you’re sure to be celebrating in a stunning room with features such as carved stone fireplaces, oak panelling, beautiful hand-painted walls, stencilled ceilings and stained glass windows throughout.
The Exchange…..
The most popular setting for the ceremony is The Exchange, which seats up to 100 of your closest friends and family who will all have the best seat in the house as the bride makes her entrance down the staircase in front of them.
The Exchange also makes an enchanting venue for evening receptions. With its towering red and grey granite cylindrical columns and original tiled floor, it’s the perfect place to dance the night away.?
The Reception Room….
With its pair of finely carved stone fireplaces and ornate decoration, the Reception Room is the ideal setting for your wedding breakfast. The room seats between 30 and 70 guests and is the perfect size for making those all important speeches.
The Mayor’s Dining Room….
For small, intimate weddings, The Mayor’s Dining Room the perfect location for up to 18 guests. Impressive in its grandeur, the room features a large dining table and finely carved chairs to ensure you dine in style.?
The Great Hall…..
The spacious Great Hall is an impressive room, unequalled among civic buildings. It provides a location that is stunning in its elegance and perfect for large wedding parties. The Great Hall can accommodate up to 250 guests with a dance floor or up to 350 guests using all the available space with a full bar included in the adjacent room.?

An amazing building reminiscent of a cathedral or stately home. In fact it was built to conduct the municipal business of Rochdale. Those Victorians certainly had style and verve

What an amazing building full of local history. I recommend the tour. Our guide, Richard was full of knowledge and knew every inch of the building. The restaurant is also fantastic serving some great food.

Absolutely beautiful. Had a guided tour conducted by George. His passion, knowledge and good humour was top quality, matching the history with intricate details that would have been missed otherwise. In today’s terms, the cost to build it in 1871, is equivalent to nearly £19 million and it is easy to see by the materials used throughout. You can visit and look around without a guide but £9pp is well worth it. Crede!
