This 17th century Grade II red star listed building, with idyllic gardens, in a magnificent location opposite Ripon Cathedral makes The Old Deanery one of the most beautiful event venues in North Yorkshire.

Our historic building and grounds are exclusively yours for your event. From the front gate to the bottom of the gardens and everything in between – just you, your guests and our friendly staff.

We can comfortably seat 80 guests for a sit down meal, with a separate reception room, multiple break-out areas, & of course our stunning grounds & gardens, all yours to use as you wish. We also have 9 individually styled bedrooms for your guests.

Our small, experienced team are on hand to help with anything that you require, from creating table plans, setting up decorations or even looking after your pooch during your event - nothing is too much trouble for our team!

Used to be great. Now it's pretentious and for overly ambitious but unimaginative guests. Plenty of A* breakfast places 2 mins walk into Ripon. Who wants deconstructed breakfast?- there's a reason no one else does this and a reason they warn you about it the night before. Great for a quiet night sleep but not much else. Won't be back until after the food experiment is finished.

The Old Deanery hosted my mums 80th birthday celebration last week. It was a total pleasure organising the event with Rebecca and it went very smoothly. All of our guests felt very well looked after throughout the day. The lunch was stunning and each course was presented with a careful description. We enjoyed warm and professional service and a great setting which has a nice blend of elegance, calmness, space and a backdrop that you can have your own colour schemes. It suited us down to the ground. We were very happy. Thank you.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch here. The staff were attentive and friendly but not overbearing. The warm freshly baked bread was a nice surprise and the dessert was delicious. We all left happy and well fed.

Superb lunch. Melt -in-the-mouth pork and delicious freshly baked bread. Tasted like the fine dining restaurant it is, but a main course and coffee for lunch was £30 per person - not cheap but you might easily pay similar and get much worse. Friendly service. We didn't stay in the hotel.

Really nice stay. Rooms were really old with the floors original and uneven. Breakfast was really nice and of the "tasting' variety. Despite that we were not hungry until it was actually lunchtime.
