The Rhyddings Suite at The Royal Toby is a beautifully appointed, purpose-built function suite. With stunning crystal chandeliers, beautifully crafted oak wall panelling, broken up by luxurious fabrics and an intricate carpet, you cannot help but be impressed and charmed by these opulent surrounds. The venue is self-contained with its own kitchens, bar and cloakroom facilities, allowing us to give you an uninterrupted service, and letting you really make the space your own.

The Rhyddings Suite can host 110 day guests and an evening reception for up to 180. We will only ever book one wedding a day in our venue, so our staff and wedding coordinators can focus completely on you!

We enjoyed a fabulous meal at the Royal Toby (main restaurant) at the weekend celebrating my wife’s 60th Birthday. Lynsey and her team were fantastic and looked after our large party of nearly 30 guests perfectly. Food was top notch too and thanks to all the guys in the kitchen 👌

I dined here for a special meal and it was fantastic. The building is cosy and very traditional decor making it feel very British and quiet luxury. The service was very quick and the food came out at reasonable intervals with no drawn out waiting. I had the steak and ale pie and chocolate fudge cake and wow it was wonderful. The pie filling was tender meat and lots of flavour and the pastry was lovely too. The mash and gravy and veg was perfect and had lots of flavour. The cake was like a better version of a school pudding and felt nostalgic. I was so happy overall it really is a little gem this place to eat. The atmosphere was quiet and warm and the outdoor area was filled with people enjoying drinks peacefully. Great car park too and away from main roads. Just overall fantastic and I can’t wait to return. The pie and cake was so good I feel I won’t end up trying other items because I quite literally could eat that every day!

Stayed overnight and had a family get-together in the Toby Restaurant. Lovely, friendly staff, comfortable bed, clean room. We had a great meal. I chose vegan options as they enticed me and I really enjoyed. Steaks and fish all equally enjoyed by others in party. A great venue. Very happy with our stay and would definitely return.

It’s possibly your best choice in Rochdale but there is limited competition. The restaurant is reasonable. Value, especially if you were to book directly and use one of the many offered deals, is good. Staff are very upbeat and helpful. All these factors lift the Royal Toby up from average to above average. If I need to stay in the area it is acceptable, but if you can travel outside of town there are much better alternatives to be found.
