York House Hotel is a Grade II listed building and holds many of the original features character it had when it was built in the late 1770s. The spacious function room echoes the 18th Century Georgian style that York House has carried throughout the centuries.

Clean, comfortable, centrally located, and cheaper than other central Wakefield hotels that I could find. Free car parking when agreed in advance. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel doesn't have amenities as such, which I wouldn't have used anyway.

Great location 1 minute from the train station. Ideal if having a night out in Wakefield. Yes the place is a little dated but probably the best value hotel I’ve stayed in for a long time. The price for hotel rooms these days is absolutely ridiculous so for £63 for a Superior room is an absolute bargain. Room was massive, with huge bed, settee, tv tea, coffee, iron etc everything you need. Bathroom was quite small but manageable. Reception staff were also so friendly. If we stay in Wakefield again will definitely come back to the York Hotel.
