I was here 4 years ago with my family. I just can not get the feeling off my head, so I had to celebrate my big birthday here with my family. It never disappoint. Really love the hotel, food, staff and the room is immaculate. The children were able to cast their device to the smart TV 👌. They loved it also. We will sure be visiting again.

Attended an afternoon tea which was excellent. I am a wheelchair user so can comment on the attentiveness of the two staff which excellent to access the venue room. Easy parking very accessible disabled parking. So overall a great experience.

Lovely hotel. High standards. Staff here are wonderful, from senior management to junior members. Garden rooms nicely appointed with big walk in showers. Ceiling fan helps but the room did get a bit warm. Food nicely cooked and presented. The main house and gardens are lovely and I believe main house bedrooms are sumptuous. A stay here is highly recommended as it is well located for sightseeing trips.

Three night stay in July 2021.Nice to find that you can still find quality. Classic period main building with garden annexe. Superbly appointed and with immaculate service. Spotlessly clean. Some of garden annexe rooms have balconies. Delightful gardens all set in the grounds of Essex University. Easy to drive to: ample parking. Not far from The Wivenhoe Trail.

Stayed for honeymoon. Really nice place with very helpful staff. Room and towels cleaned and changed daily. Nice grounds and not to far from bus stops to get around.
