May 2024Wow we loved this place. Surely this is the best value hotel in all London. We first booked Jr suite but found it a bit too close to the rooftop venues and could hear thumping bass until late. Moved into a King Of Kings and spent the next nine nights in heaven. We loved the room design, the comfort of the super king bed, plenty of storage and a window that opened. Staff are so delightful, the room was kept spotless with so many touches like a drip coffee maker and interesting minibar options ( though we’d rather just have a fridge). Location is brilliant- across the street from the Eurostar station and many tube lines. There’s a bit of room for improvement in the breakfast buffet which was rather basic and had consistency issues, but that’s just nitpicking. There are many room options, so treat yourself even if it’s in an interior room with living plants or a compact single. I can hardly wait to stay again.

July 2024Great spot right across St Pancras International. Took the Eurostar and was greeted by very professional staff. Room was retro inspired but nothing special. Great view of the station though. Breakfast was great. Rooftop bar was a letdown. Did not try the restaurant. Would recommend if staying near the train station, but else not worth a detour.

May 2024"Spend your time in truly unique hotel rooms" was certainly true. Especially when I jumped into my £500 a night bed to find the mattress completely wet. Now that I've checked out I've given time to reflect. The staff were incredibly attentive. They upgraded me to a junior suite, kept checking in on how we were doing, and the team were always on hand to help - by far the best hotel staff I've come across. It is a shame that our night was let down by what seemed to be a one-off issue, but they handled it and are investigating. The breakfast was superb and the library bar was a special treat for a cocktail or two. Would I go back? Maybe not to sleep, but definitely a cool place to go for a drink with friends.

June 2024Don't choose The Standard London unless you are okay to be wrongly charged for minibar. During the stay, we did not use anything from the minibar (Actually we did not even touch it). When checking out, the staff didn't confirm with me and simply told me that the process is all done and I can go. A few days after checking out, I received a notification that The Standard London charged me for extra fee. I was confused and sent an email to check with them. They told me I took 4 bottles of water and a protein bar from the minibar. Although I told them it was a mistake and we didn't take them, at first they refused to refund. The finally agree to refund until I told them if they don't pay me back I'll treat it as a scam and report them. In short, this is a hotel which can falsely charge you for minibar without letting you know in advance. If I have not kept an eye on my card expense record, I might not even notice it! So beware of it. Honestly, it definitely does not worth its price and I believe there are plenty of better choices in London.

July 2024Service in the library was terrible. At one point two teenagers joined our table and ate sandwiches and crisps from the shop (which smelt horrible). I pointed it out to the guy who was serving out table and he just shrugged. No offence to the teenagers, but for the price of the drinks you expect a high end service. Otherwise service was incredibly slow and inattentive. I had to get up to find someone to order from more times than not. If there hadn’t been torrential rain outside, we’d have left early. A completely amateur offering, avoid.
