This hotel doesn’t even warrant one star. Two friends and I stayed here on Friday night and the rooms were not clean. The hotel is dated but the cleanliness was nothing short of revolting and in these uncertain times it is definitely not covid compliant. Staff were lovely but no compensation despite photo evidence; oh and don’t waste your money on breakfast. Avoid at all costs.

Basing an establishment on reviews alone has taught me a valuable lesson. I was reluctant to carry through with our reservation due to reviews, but speaking with Alison put my mind at ease, and experiencing the entire weekend was 10/10. My mother and I cannot rave about the staff more, the accommodation was quaint, (yet spacious) and incredibly charming. The spa was perfection and our massages were to die for. It's shame a few bad apples (reviews) can intimidate those able to experience Craxton Wood. Thank you to the entire team for an exceptional stay.

We booked here whilst travelling around the over the last weekend of August. We were tempted to cancel having read some awful reviews on here & TA, but we are so glad we didn't. The hotel is located off a main road, surrounded by woodland. It's clean and the rooms are a good size, with a large window letting in lots of natural light. We had a view of the back garden. There was a wedding on during the 1st night, but we hardly heard any noise. The only downfall is the breakfast. The fried eggs were quite overcooked and the scrambled looked like clumps of butter. My advice is, book in before 9 as it gets very busy. We used the swimming pool with the children & that was all clean & well kept. There is a small climbing frame out the back for children to play on, which was a great hit. If we are in the area again, we will definitely stay here.

The hotel is in a lovely location, but the room we had was quite dated and definitely requires an update in terms of fresh decor and carpets (stains on the walls and stains and tears in the carpet). The spa weekend we had got off to a disappointing start as there were no robes available, meaning we had to wait for around an hour before we could start our spa break. Even then we had to wait even longer for a large robe because the two mediums provided didn't fit me. On the whole it's a lovely hotel, but loads of little issues that need some fixing/investment. Two standard two-slice domestic toasters to serve the whole breakfast function being a good example.

The spa day was excellent. Plenty of time to relax and unwind. Afternoon Tea was lovely and came with plenty of tea upon request. Spa treatments were very good, felt totally chilled after them. The whole day was really enjoyable.
