Howies Victoria Street, Restaurant

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, as early diners we had opted for the 2-course meal which was of good value. Service from welcome to table was welcoming and friendly. Food was well presented and deserving of a fine restaurant rating.

Such a friendly and beautifully set restaurant. The food is picturesque and top notch. Everything we had, from the large portions of bread paired with roasted red pepper humus to the flaky and flavorful cod, was exceptional. The wait staff is helpful as well as friendly. They prepared a table for us even amidst a packed house. Know that this is not just a restaurant, it’s a date night restaurant. We brought the kids, which was perfectly okay, but the setting and price is more date night worthy. This place is terrific!

Started with a rhubarb and ginger gin & tonic. Delish! Food was great went with the 2 course for 19.99! Dined on Scottish pan seared salmon w/ crushed potatoes, onions, cabbage, carrot puree and lemon and caper dressing. Paired it with the recommended white wine and it was perfect. Ended with their famous Banofee pie. Service was ok but not great. Thought there would be a little more atmosphere in that it’s located on Victoria street…but alas not much. Maybe it was just the area I was sitting in--I didn't see the entire restaurant. Love how they are so careful with where they source their meat and fish.
