Description

The famous Kings Arms is the oldest pub in Oxford built in 1607 and still standing in its original position. We're quite possibly also the brainiest pub in Oxford too, known for having the highest IQ per square foot of anywhere in the world! Loved by Oxford scholars and tourists alike and renown for fine cask ales, hearty homemade food and our resident ghost. Ali and the team look forward to making you at home.

Perfect for private dining, drinks parties and even large tour groups for up to 100 for lunch.

As this was the pub we came to following our son’s University interview we thought it would be a great way to celebrate graduation day. We sat at a table that was reserved at 5.15, but as it was 4.15 we decided to sit down but leave by 5.10. The party who booked arrived at 5pm and we were asked to vacate the table. I pointed out there was 15 minutes until their booking should be honoured but was told that the party were here and we should leave. What a shoddy way to treat a family who were celebrating a special event. I think it embarrassed the incoming family and tainted our day. Shame on you King’s Arms. We won’t be back.

I love this spot! Favorite pub in town. If you want a good idea of who the Oxford locals are as people, you should definitely check out this pub. They have friendly staff, excellent food, the place is clean, and their beers are wonderful, so you're gonna have a good time no matter what.

Lovely studenty place in the centre of town. Decent beer and pub food, high ceilings and a great atmosphere. It's definitely my go-to pub in Oxford city centre. In good weather it's possible to sit and stand out on the street, and it's a great spot for people watching. I would head here before the more famous pub, The Turf Tavern.

Popped in for lunch and a pint, fantastic authenticity to its 400+ year history. Lots of renewed decor and photos/framed articles. Real ale to choose from. Gourmet style lunch was fresh and tasty. Thank you for a pleasant stop off in Oxford city.

I had the fish finger sandwich and it was just okay, very bland. Even though it's under "small plates" it was enough for a full meal. In fact, their regular sized portions here are massive, especially their Sunday specials, so be aware of that. My friend ordered chips and they were pretty dry. Overall it's an okay place but there are definitely better pubs in Oxford.
