Mercure Bolton Georgian House Hotel, Function Room

I won a competition with bolton food festival for an overnight stay with meal, breakfast and 80s/90s night x Upon arrival I was greeted by the lovely receptionist (forgot her name, long dark wavy hair blue tints) who couldn't do enough for me if I'm honest. Went to my room and was greeted by a suite, which I wasn't expecting but loved. Later, I was greeted by Katie the events manager, who again couldn't do enough for me. Absolute fantastic host And the manageress who again lost her name. But like Katie, so welcoming. The only point loss is down to the bar service. Time after time stood waiting to be served with others before me. As there seemed to never be anyone on the bar. Katie, who was already here, there and everywhere having to jump on to serve. And when bar staff were on, it was hard to get a smile from them. Working in hospitality on and off for near 30 years. Service with a smile and effort is 100% the key factor to being front of house etc. The 80s/90s night was fantastic My body was in bits Last thing I expected was to be doing the full monty 😄😄 Thanks mr dj lol Katie, Manageress, Receptionist x Fantastic work x Thankyou x

Overall a good experience yet room for improvements. Parts of the hotel, especially in the room and in the restaurant, we're looking quite tired. Loo roll extremely cheap, which, in my opinion leaves room for thought of what else has been skimped on. Every member of staff that I interacted with were really friendly and helpful 🙂
