Mercure Bolton Georgian House Hotel, Function Room

Hotel is lovely. Great location, close to everything you could need. Ryan at the bar was great, put the football on the tv for me and was very welcoming, gave good tips on places to go also. Only thing is the showers are not great, I’ve stayed here about 6 times due to work and I can’t get a good shower pressure, maybe I’m a shower snob but I’m tucked up to the shower head 😂 but overall brilliant place!

Hotel is well located and public area was spotless. Interaction with staff was all positive. As they seemed to be friendly and respectful. Receptionist in morning was very helpful, and assisted in printing a very important document for me. However there was more negatives than positives. On arrival we asked for food, and was told no chef, so kit food available to us. Room this stay was very dated and was in need of a freshen up. Minor repairs had been done to a poor standard. Water pressure was poor for the shower, although it was hot enough. No hot buffet breakfast in the morning. Although there was plenty of cereal, toast, etc. Hot food order was taken by one of the team, and brought out to the table. But unfortunately this was not freshly cooked. It had been sitting under the hot plate, Black pudding was rock hard, sausages over done on one side probably due to hot plate. Beans look warm, and bacon again dry from hot plate. I will be staying again in a few weeks time, so this trip did not discourage me from using the hotel.

I visit this hotel regularly for business meetings and would like to give a special shout-out to Irene, who always looks after us so well. Whatever our requests, she does her utmost to ensure everything runs smoothly. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and friendly approach make a real difference to our experience every time.
