We had my daughters wedding here over two days .all the staff were lovely and helpful with all our needs. Food on the wedding day was excellent all presented nicely and all hot. Well done all the staff keep it up especially James at the helm.

Didn't know what to expect for the price but only stopping in relation to work, but what a gem. I opened the bedroom door and went wow. Lovely comfy seating around the fire or wood burner in the lounge. Superb Evening meal and upgraded to English Breakfast that was clearly premium produce. Staff were brilliant. Enjoyed the experience so much that I have booked for me and the wife to stay in January before I had even left today.

I just want to thank the amazing lady that was working on reception the 4th of Jan in the evening! Me and my boyfriend got stranded due to the flooding and couldn’t get home so we stopped in at the moon raker to ask if there was a room available. The lovely lady on reception I believe was just leaving to go home as it was late but was happy to stay to book us into a room and gave us spare chargers for our phones as we had nothing with us! The room was lovely and the staff the next morning were also lovely and friendly. Would definitely stay here again just with better circumstances 😂. Thank you again!

Such a disappointing stay. We booked this Secret Escapes deal for a special occasion for Dinner Bed & Breakfast. I have booked many times through this website and the hotels are always special and high quality. I had read quite a few negative review especially about the meal options on the special offer. I checked the Residents menu online and could see there were a couple of nice options so continued with the booking. Our room was ok, bottled water would have been nice as both taps were hot despite running them for a while. At dinner the options were 3 pies, a burger or fish and chips! The menu online had been replaced with this awful one especially if you avoid gluten. No healthy option. The food was terribly cooked (or re-heated) and the bacon in the burger was microwaved and slimy. Most options had a hefty surcharge when this is only usually applied to steak, not that it was an option. Even apple crumble was extra. £10 surcharge for a cheeseboard is daylight robbery! It seemed obvious that this was not in fact, a special deal, but numerous ways for the place to charge extra's to bump up the price. Many people were complaining in the restaurant and were told the chef was off and they might have a choice of food in a few days. We were not offered any drinks and the restaurant was short staffed. We left most of our meal and no one asked if it was ok and this was also not asked on checkout. Cooked breakfast was not included in the deal despite most cheaper hotels have this included. I paid £20 extra for a cooked breakfast which was reheated hard sausages and bacon, cold eggs which made us ill later that day. I would suggest raising the special offer price and actually fulfilling good service and food options including a decent breakfast. All the cutting corners completely spoiled our trip and we were grateful we didn't have to stay longer. There's better food at a Premier Inn.
