Hidden Gem in Brooklyn – A Sauna Sanctuary I spent over four hours at Brooklyn Banya on my first visit, and I can confidently say this place is a gem. Tucked away in plain sight, I never expected such a beautifully designed, peaceful oasis to exist right here in Brooklyn. From the moment I walked in, both the staff and fellow guests were welcoming, warm, and respectful, which made the experience even more relaxing. The space itself is deceptively large—spacious, artful, and full of thoughtful design touches. There’s a quiet, almost meditative vibe throughout the facility that lets you truly unwind. I won’t give too much away because the layout and features are worth discovering on your own. The saunas are hot in the best possible way, and the steam room delivers a deeply satisfying cycle of steam if you're patient. The pools and jacuzzi are amazing, and I was obsessed with the cold plunge options. There's even an overhead chain shower that dumps cold water on you between sessions—definitely one of my favorite parts of the whole experience. What really stood out was the freedom to go at my own pace and flow through the different rooms and temperatures. By the end, I felt reset—refreshed, revived, and whole. This was my first time experiencing a traditional banya, and I’m hooked. Legend has it there's a hidden mermaid spa jacuzzi I haven't discovered yet… but I’ll be back on the search. I’m already planning to make this a weekly ritual. Highly recommend to anyone who needs a reset, some peace, or just a dope hidden experience in the city.

The saunas are really great and the room temp pool is nice. There is also a lot of room to sit and relax comfortably. However, there are cleanliness issues and there is no actual cold plunge here - just a little tub inside of a horizontal refrigerator. You can go to a different and better bathhouse in the city for a cheaper day pass than $60.

We visited this place today, and I have to say, I’ve never experienced anything as horrifying as this in my life. This is not just a dirty place; it’s a complete health hazard with questionable service. You walk into the pool and immediately fear you might catch something. The floors are incredibly filthy. The showers? An absolute nightmare. To make things even worse, there’s an old lady—probably the owner’s mother or something—who keeps yelling at everyone and scolding them. In a place as sketchy as this, she makes it impossible to relax. It’s insane. And all of this for 65 $! Honestly, you’d be better off eating that money and staying home, at least without the fear of getting sick or infected.
