I had the most pleasant experience at The Hoxton recently. I came to NY on vacation to see family and received the utmost hospitality, especially from Junior. He was incredibly helpful, kind, professional, and made my time there a pleasant experience overall. The hotel has the most beautiful, spacious, aesthetically pleasing lobby - great for getting some work done as you're accompanied by other working folks and great music. Seriously, I cannot thank Junior enough. He knew I hadn't had many pleasant experiences in NY before, and he really left a positive impression not only on the hotel, but no exaggeration, NY. I'll only stay here from now on.

Solid 4 star. The room overlooking Manhattan was of course amazing. The design was simple and efficient. The location is excellent with plenty of restaurants and shops. My 4-star rating comes from the note waiting for us on the desk in our room addressed to another patron. It felt vaguely like a violation of our privacy, even though it was probably an honest mistake. Still, I felt as though this other patron had a key to our room and could walk in at any moment. I brought this up to the front desk and there response was, “oh, may I go up to your room and remove the note?” That felt like even more of a violation of our privacy. Like, no, why would you need to enter our room to do that? That interaction just felt strange. Anyway, 4 stars.

We stayed at The Hoxton Williamsburg for 3 nights and unfortunately had a disappointing experience overall. The room was extremely small for the price—essentially just a bed with very little room to walk or store anything (no closet just a tiny rack next to bed.) The bathroom was also tiny, and the shower design caused water to spill out all over the floor, even with the door fully shut and towels placed down to catch the water. Cleanliness was a major issue. We requested a room clean during our stay, but the sheets were not changed just the bed was redone, and a dirty cleaning towel was left in the bathroom which was quite alarming. It didn’t feel like the room had been properly cleaned or refreshed. Customer service was underwhelming and at times rude. We called the front desk a few times with simple questions, and the staff wasn’t helpful or warm. When we asked about late checkout (which they charge by the hour, which is fine), the man at the front desk responded by essentially threatening to have housekeeping come tell us to leave—this was after we had already agreed we’d hurry to check out as soon as possible. The only real positive was the beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline from our room, which was genuinely stunning and the location which is walking distance from a lot of nice restaurants and shops. But unfortunately, that didn’t make up for the poor service, lack of cleanliness, and the incredibly small and impractical room for the price. There are so many hotel options in Williamsburg that offer better service, comfort, and overall value. I would not recommend staying here.
