Great hotels are about so much more than ticking boxes to do with facilities.

You’ll know as well as we do how many places these days offer complimentary this and all-included that, but we know that the human side –what we’re like, how we make you feel – transcends box-ticking. Guest feedback bears this out: attentive, polite, professional and friendly, from the moment we park your car on arrival to when you check out.

Just downstairs we are privileged to have the three AA-rosette Olive Tree restaurant, in its own right one of Bath’s longest established independent restaurants.

Its high reputation and popularity, gained and nurtured over many years, is for relaxed fine dining in a contemporary British style. Our head chef Chris Cleghorn honed his skills under world-renowned Michelin Star chefs, and is tipped for one himself by The Times. His unique style – which showcases the finest seasonal ingredients from high-quality local producers – has won many awards, being cited most recently for: “Faultless service, serious cooking of prime ingredients and consistently high quality. This is as good as it gets.”

This is a truly lovely hotel with excellent customer service. The staff are so friendly and go the extra mile to make sure your stay is perfect. The rooms are all different - luxurious and spacious. Tea and coffee available in every floor. Located in a quieter and interesting part of the city, but still central. Highly recommended for a special stay.

Just wow! Wedding Anniversary visit with lunch at the Olive Garden just as they celebrated their 6th Michelin star. The whole experience was faultless. Luggage taken care of, our names, faces, room number, and all details of the booking fully recalled by every member of staff, so you seem to glide through the hotel on a carpet genuine and warm hospitality. Special mention to Camille who was especially amazing, so friendly. The decor is essentially how we would love to decorate our own house, and we were told that every room is unique. Period fireplace, Ruark radio, large and immaculate bathroom with a rain shower and deep clawfoot bath. The beds were super comfortable, and I can be very sensitive to this (I have an eve mattress at home). Located in a very chic and stylish part of Bath; loads of great bistros, cocktail bars and higher end eateries. Flute, The Salamander, Caffe Lucca were great. Nice view down towards the city/river, and the Royal Crescent is just a short walk away. We absolutely will be returning. Highly recommended 🙏 Cocktail tip: Last Word 👌
