A beautiful hotel, great food and service. Had a wonderful massage in the spa too. Amazing place to spend a weekend

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. The location is perfect: less than a hour from York and the coast. When we arrived we were very impressed by the entrance and the massive and very well-kept golf club. However, the interior of the hotel is the opposite. Decor and furniture are very poor and the rooms are in real need of care. As you can see from the pictures, there were insects in the bathroom and spider net. The window of our room was very close to the window of another room without any privacy- that weekend was very hot and without air conditioning, we had to keep it open. It was not ideal. However, the most upsetting thing was not being able to use the swimming pool.we stayed for two days and it was always fully booked. However, from the gym and the window outside I have only seen 2 people in there for almost one morning- see pictures. Reading the reviews, this was a common problems of most of the guests. If a structure states that there is availability of a swimming pool for its guests for free, you should reserve some slots, or just make them pay for its use. I think this would be much more transparent and honest. The breakfast was ok. I believe that this place has very strong potential but, right now, I would to not recommend it.

Excellent quiet room. Comfortable bed, fantastic buffet breakfast with high quality bacon sausages and black pudding. Friendly efficient staff a great hotel would visit again.

Not bad, the rooms can be very hit an miss, some of the old rooms that are classed as an upgrade can be a little dated and work, but there are good rooms on the newer side too. Generally enjoy my stays here, I use the gym and usually eat in the small eating part as the main restaurant has never had a menu to entice. Nice area to cycle as I have taken my bike with me on occasion

Impressive building! Well appointed room, tastefully decorated, spotless bathroom. Our room overlooked the Golf Clubhouse, and Course. A bit noisy in the morning with Golfers arriving as early as 7.30! We were booked in as a Classic Car group. Breakfast served as Buffet, all hot, Danish pastries and croissants, cereal, fresh fruit, and dried, Yogurts, Granola, cold meat slices and cheese, toast, jams & honey. Our evening meals excellent! The young staff were wonderful, so pleasant, and helpful, a credit to the Hotel, one of the older members was so entertaining (can't remember his name 😕), had us in stitches! Beautiful grounds to wander around. Pool and Spa facilities. Enjoyed our stay
