About Venue
The Montcalm at the Brewery wears its quirky heritage with pride, an award-winning transformation from historic brewery to handsome five star hotel. With period features at every turn, it stays faithful to its past as the eighteenth century base of Whitbread & Co, but it’s also every inch the twenty-first century hotel you’d expect of a superbly central City of London location. A refreshing blend of elegance and informality, it’s the ideal urban retreat, welcoming wide-eyed explorers and time-pressed business travellers alike to the true heart of London.
A beautiful space boasting original Grade 1 listed timbers from the old Brewery offices, the Worsely takes its name from one of the original founders of the old Whitbread brewery. Natural light floods in through elegant sash windows, and, like the Melville, this high-ceilinged space overlooks Chiswell Street Dining Rooms.

An Exceptional Stay at The Montcalm Brewery Hotel, London Our recent stay at The Montcalm Brewery was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with genuine warmth and impeccable service. We stayed in the Barbican Duplex Suite, and it was absolutely stunning — beautifully designed, with a clever use of space that felt both modern and indulgent. Every detail, from the décor to the comfort of the furnishings, was perfect. A huge thank you goes to Corina and Bianca from the Club Lounge — what an incredible team! They made our evenings truly special with their attentive hospitality and warm personalities. The Club Lounge itself is an elegant and exclusive pre-dinner haven, complete with excellent drinks, great music, and an inviting atmosphere that instantly puts you in a relaxed, luxurious mood. We’d also like to express our appreciation to Saad (Duty Manager) and Vikram (Concierge), who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was seamless and memorable. Their professionalism and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The Montcalm Brewery effortlessly combines classic London charm with contemporary comfort and top-tier service. We left feeling genuinely cared for and thoroughly spoiled — already planning our return!

We had a fantastic stay at The Montcalm Brewery Hotel in London! The Montcal Duplex Suite was absolutely stunning — spacious, beautifully designed, and such a clever use of space. It felt like our own little slice of luxury in the heart of the city. We were completely looked after by Corina and Bianca in the Club Lounge — they made every evening special with their warm service and attention to detail. The lounge itself is the perfect spot to unwind before dinner, with great drinks, relaxing music, and a lovely atmosphere. Big thanks as well to Saad (Duty Manager) and Vikram (Concierge), who went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for us. Everyone we met was friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about making our stay exceptional. We honestly couldn’t have asked for more — a beautiful hotel, amazing people, and memories we’ll cherish. Highly recommended!

really enjoyed my stay at Montcalm at The Brewery Hotel yesterday. The service was excellent from start to finish, and Hazera was especially lovely. She greeted me so nicely and took great care to make sure I had everything I needed. The hotel was beautifully clean, comfortable, and had a very calm atmosphere. I felt completely relaxed during my time there. Hazera was so thoughtful and attentive nothing was ever too much trouble for her. It was a truly pleasant experience, and I’d happily stay again in the future very sweet girl with a very nice smile!

Location ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Right in the heart of central London, it's convenient, well-connected, and not overly touristy. It’s close to transport links and just a 5-minute walk from my office, which made it perfect for me. Room ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A little worn but well-equipped. Loved the unlimited bottled water, comfortable bed and pillows, and the complete set of toiletries. Service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent hospitality! The staff helped with my luggage, always greeted me warmly at the lobby, and made me feel genuinely welcome. Amenities ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The breakfast spread was divine. It may not be the biggest, but everything was high quality (except for the eggs maybe). The gym is compact yet sufficient, though the area outside can get a bit smelly since it’s near the toilet. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would definitely return!

We recently spent 3 nights here for our mini moon after booking via booking.com. We had a great experience and nothing was too much trouble. We checked in with Hazera, she was warm and welcoming and congratulated us on our wedding. Our room had been decorated with balloons and towel swans with chocolate strawberries and macarons - a lovely touch. The mattress was comfy and we were warm enough in bed but I personally found the pillows uncomfortable. One pillow was particularly lumpy, so I did request another one which arrived very promptly. I much prefer something more supportive and I appreciate this is personal choice. The breakfast has a wide variety of options and has allergens clearly listed. I really enjoyed the yogurt with fruit compote, granola and pastries. I wasn't a huge fan of the cooked breakfast - I'd have preferred back bacon to streaky but again personal choice as I like bacon fat crispy. I think if the plates were hot too, the breakfast would stay hotter for longer when eating. Location is great and very close to moor gate tube station which is great for the northern and Elizabeth lines - great access to where we wanted to be. We would consider returning to this hotel 😊
