About Embargo Republica

Embargo Republica is a Cuban-inspired club in the heart of Chelsea with sensational cocktails, the finest selection of rums this side of Havana and a large rooftop terrace that will sweep you away to the island itself.

The venue has three distinctive, bookable private spaces, each with their own quirky personality, which can be hired individually or as a whole. The 300-capacity main clubroom, our Little Havana room for up to 120 people, or our cool Casamigos Terrace which has capacity for 100 guests, or 45 seated. Our versatility means that we can host almost any event, from intimate birthday to large corporate Christmas parties.

We pride ourselves on our high levels of service and attention to the finer details to guarantee the success of your event and will work closely with you to tailor it to your requirements. If you need entertainment our talented team can turn their hand to (almost!) anything and have previously organised private cabarets, ‘Rock-eoke’, magicians, singing waitresses, saxophone players and musical bingo, to name just a few. We can arrange catering and work closely with local independent restaurants, to provide you with quality options. That way, we can support the local community while offering a wide range to suit your taste and budget.

I have visited on a few occasions in the last 3 years and I have always enjoyed my self. Nice staff and very pleasant crowd. They have a lovely outdoor terrace with a bar, where you can have a cigarette or a cigar and enjoy talking to your friends if you ever need a break from music inside. Cuban themed venue, but they play club music.

If I could make it zero stars I definitely would. I was in queue for this club and was told I couldn't get in because I didn't have a booking, which was completely fine until all of my white friends went back in queue after I left the queue and they were instantly asked for their ID and allowed access (bear in mind they didn't have a booking). I tried to see a reason why I couldn't be allowed in so I tried to ask the security and they were instantly very rude and wouldn't let me speak and all I wanted to know is if it was racially driven (as I wasn't drunk, I was dressed appropriately, but I couldn't get in, yet every single Caucasian person in that queue didn't have an issue) I never once said anything bad to the security as I knew that they were on shift and I'm not trying to make that job any harder but they were incredibly disrespectful to me and I would not recommend going. After this I tried to get in contact with Embargo and they have not replied to anything I have said... The whole thing was extremely humiliating and prove that point it was definitely racially driven. If you look on the Instagram you will see what I mean
