We stayed here for our honeymoon and were not disappointed. On arrival, the house was stunning and smelled amazing. As it was such a special occasion, we booked The Dunstane Suite and it was pure perfection - a sweet little radio playing nice music on entry, a jar of delicious shortbread and a bottle of champers with some choccy strawbs for us to enjoy. This room is not cheap by any stretch but for us, it was worth every penny. The bed was so comfortable, everything was immaculately clean and it just felt like the owners/team had really put a lot of thought into the small touches as well as the main things you'd expect from a hotel. Bedding/towel quality was exceptional, the room layout was spacious with lovely warm tones and plenty of nods to the owners' original home in the Orkney Islands. Staff were all so friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived to the moment we left - big thanks especially to Carys for being so attentive. Food at this hotel is also great! We had a three course dinner in the Ba' Bar, which was delicious and breakfast was also lovely. Location wise, this is a great spot as it's only a 15 min walk/5 min bus ride into the City Centre, but nice and far away from all the hustle and bustle (and noise) of city nightlife - we had 3 great sleeps, despite the hotel being on a main road. I would come back to stay at Dunstane Houses in a heartbeat, everything was perfect and we couldn't have chosen a better hotel for such a special trip. Thank you team!

Floor staff were super nice and food was decent. The room we had was clean and the bed very comfortable, however it was tiny…probably the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. We may have gotten the runt of the litter, and other rooms may be normal sizes, but my wife and I literally did not have enough space to stand beside each other in the same area. The space between the end of the bed and the TV on the wall was about 10inches and was barely enough to get through without leaning on the bed. When we mentioned this at checkout, the response was that it’s an old building (true) and that they try to be as transparent as possible on the room sizes when booking (not true). Given our expressed disappointment with the room size, they could have comp’d the breakfast to take the sting out of it a little, but our comments didn’t seem to matter that much to them. Won’t be returning any time soon, especially at these rates.

We visited for a gin tasting afternoon and love it! Shaun was so friendly and knowledgable, it was like having a drink with a friend. The bar & lounge area are relaxing settings and we are already recommending it to family & friends. We hope to be back soon!

Stayed with extended family for 3 days. Shirley and her team looked after all our requirements in an exemplary fashion. Food ,rooms and staff all excellent Will return soon. David and Linda

Stayed 2 nights, our room was in the lower ground floor, it felt a bit moist and stuffy, with little to no natural light. Also our house was across the street from the main house, and the street is very busy. The bed was great though and everything else was comfy and well decorated.
