Booked a surprise night away for the wife's birthday and our ruby wedding. The staff were all great. The room was a good size with a nice view and there was a couple of nice surprises in the room for our special occasion. Breakfast was good. We have stayed here before and will stay again. A big thank you to general manager and all his staff.

Love the view from the executive suite! The room was massive but there were a few issues, the heaters were very noisy through the night and the shower head was too low down and it wasn't a good shower head either. Also the room has one of those doors that directly connects to the neighbouring room so you could hear the other side... Other than that the service was great and the restaurant too!

Lovely hotel on the Tyne Rooms very spacious, lovely view of the river Quiet and peaceful. Could hear the trains going by which was strangely relaxing. Reception and bar area well decorated. Parking a bonus. Rooms could do with an update.

Grand older hotel with a great waterfront location on Quay7, but rooms in need of an update refresh and modern makeover. Maintenance of rooms could be better, Our Accessible room bathroom had shower over bath but no walkin shower, heating or extraction and faulty shower head. Breakfast queues on busy mornings are a problem, guests waiting nearly 15mins for hot buffet refresh. General Service at bars and restaurant and quality of food is good with reasonable prices Staff are helpful, kind and courteous. This is a good hotel but some issues require attention and addressing. We would return but not before checking competition.
