We had a truly wonderful stay at Ashdown Park Hotel & Spa. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptionally kind, polite, and attentive — they made us feel genuinely cared for. The hotel itself is steeped in fascinating history, beautifully preserved with remarkable attention to detail. You can really feel the dedication of the owner in maintaining both the ethos and the architectural charm of this magnificent place. Staff knew the history well and were pleased to share with us. The spa was great and spotless, the golf course beautifully maintained, and all the facilities were immaculate. Great walking routes and running tracks. The breakfast was superb, offering a wide variety of fresh fruits and delicious options. And the dinner that evening was simply exceptional. Michelin level in both presentation and taste, one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. Everything about Ashdown Park radiates elegance, comfort, and genuine hospitality. A perfect blend of history, tranquillity, and five-star service. A memorable experience from start to finish. Thank you!

The service was outstanding! Much bette than many 5-stars hotel. The hotel offers a turndown sevice. The breakfast is good and you receive a personal service like in a restaurant. The hotel itself is very beautiful, the view from the windows is like in postcard and our room was big with a lot of storage space. I highly highly recommend.

Me and my partner stayed here for two nights to celebrate our anniversary, and honestly, where do I even start? What a beautiful hotel! From the stunning grounds to the incredible staff and delicious food, everything exceeded our expectations. The staff were absolutely amazing and so welcoming. We had only booked a double room but were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite! A special shout out to Brock, the lovely barman who put up with us all evening, and to the manager at reception such a kind man. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a special getaway!

We popped in for a coffee as have been curious to visit for a long time. There was a lovely, very welcome, wood burner in the entrance hall and the whole hotel was beautifully warm. You can eat a light lunch in the bar area, even as a non resident. There are a variety of function rooms for small or large gatherings in the main house and the converted church for larger parties or weddings. You can use the gym and play on the 18 hole golf course as a resident and non resident. Glad we popped in!

We have stayed a few times at the hotel whilst working in the area. This review is for room 19-Hazel. The room was huge and would make a lovely room for a wedding party to get ready in, as it had a dressing table area, a seating area, a leaf drop table and a desk. It is situated right up at the top of the property and I would say if you have mobility difficulties the last flight of stairs to the room are very steep. Room was clean but there were some noticeable stains on the sofa. The decor is dated and the mattress was very very soft and probably could do with being replaced- although we slept fine. It was quiet in the room, we stayed during the week. The bathroom had a jacuzzi bath/shower with Molton brown toiletries and everything we needed. Coffee pod machine, teas and biscuits. We also had some water and sweets- not sure if this a perk of booking through Hilton as a member or not though. Due to working a nightshift we had room service and it arrived quickly. Service by all staff was lovely. Overall a lovely stay and the grounds are beautiful with some beautiful walks. Would make a stunning backdrop for wedding/party photographs.
