June 2025I’ve stayed in quite a few Malmaisons now, and up until this trip, the Newcastle one was always my favourite. But the Aberdeen Malmaison has easily taken the top spot. It’s in a great location, away from all the loud city centre noise, and set in a beautiful old building with a smart modern extension at the back. Inside, it’s decorated with loads of Scottish character, and it just feels that bit more special. Not like your typical hotel, it’s got a proper uniqueness to it. Everything else was what I’ve come to expect from Malmaison. The breakfasts are great but overpriced. The rooms are excellent as always, with one of the most comfortable mattresses I’ve ever slept on. But the pillows were terrible. I had to stack three just to get comfortable. There are a few negatives, but overall it’s still a brilliant experience. One of the big reasons I keep coming back to Malmaison is the staff. They really look after you and make you feel properly valued. I also tried out the gym this time. Honestly, it needs work. It’s a small room with three cardio machines, a cable setup, two benches and a weights rack. The air con barely worked, and over the five nights I stayed, not once did I see a staff member down there. Gyms always seem to be an afterthought in hotels and this one is no different. Still, despite the gym and the pillows, the Aberdeen Malmaison stands out. The building, the setting, the little Scottish touches, and especially the staff made this stay feel a cut above the rest.

March 2025Another relaxing, comfortable weekend away. We come here, minimum of 3 times a year, for Birthdays and our anniversary. Excellent rooms, incredible staff and wonderful bar and grill. We occasionally look at other options in Aberdeen but Malmaison always gets our booking for the quality of staff, restaurant, bar, rooms and walk into the city centre. The entire team here are a credit to the Malmaison family and a big part of what secures our continued patronage.

May 2025If you can, I’d strongly recommend upgrading to one of the Club Deluxe rooms where you will have the best bath of your life - roll top right in the room! Staff are lovely, room service was speedy, delicious, and reasonably priced. If you’re driving, you’ll likely have to park round the back on Queens Lane South, but it still gives relatively easy access to the hotel via stairs. If you can’t use stairs, there are designated disabled spaces at the front of the building.

June 2025Great hotel. Parking limited at the front but parking at the back. Room was nice but only let down was the seal on the bath glass splash screen had gone and hanging on welcome and the showerhel and shamopoo bottles were loose in the caddy’s . Other than that nice room with chrome cast in tv

May 2025Where to start… after entering the room I immediately saw that the options for windows are either allowing good chunk of the hotel guests a voyeur experience since they will be walking about 6 feet from my bed or to close the curtains completely. The second issue was the heating. I guess I could have taken the hint from the 2 radiators that were in my room, but since I didn’t buy the “figure out how to not freeze at night” package nor did the reception alert me about a problem, it’s not something I was looking after. I sleep rather well at cold temperatures so it wasn’t a problem for me, but I can imagine some guests could take issue with morning room temperatures around 15C The breakfast was resoundingly mediocre experience. Nothing to complain or write home about. Otherwise the hotel is clean, elevators work and the staff is ok. The only reason the place doesn’t get 2 star rating is the price point. It is in that “you get what you pay for” range. The 3.5 feels just about right.
