The Macdonald Compleat Angler Hotel, located on the banks of the River Thames, offers everything you could need for your perfect wedding day.
The unrivalled riverside location provides a plethora of stunning backdrops for your important wedding photographs. The hotel boasts fantastic views of Marlow Bridge and Weir, the River Thames, and the beautiful Parish Church which is beautifully illuminated at night.
You have many options for your romantic ceremony. The Church is located opposite the hotel and there is a Catholic Church just a five-minute walk away. The hotel is also licensed to hold civil ceremonies in three suites: The Thames Room, River Room and Regency Room. The largest space, the Regency Room, can accommodate up to 120 guests for a ceremony.
We will help you plan every detail of your wedding. Our dedicated, experienced wedding co-ordinator will be there to help every step of the way, offering help and support throughout your wedding preparations and to ensure your big day runs smoothly.
Alongside your personal wedding co-ordinator, our professional team and the talented, award-winning brigade of chefs are on hand to help create your dream day and delicious cuisine. Ahead of your big day, our chefs invite you to a “Wedding Tasting” of your selected menu.
For your first night of married life, you can enjoy a complimentary stay in the luxurious Feature Double Room, which offers wonderful views across the weir from your very own private balcony.

The Compleat Angler, absolutely great service. The staff are all polite and helpful, the room is clean and comfortable at my expectation. The breakfast… I am not sure 🤔 needed some more fresh fruits I believe. Used to be extraordinarily satisfying.

We decided to stay here at short notice after a disastrous stay elsewhere. The difference between the two hotels was amazing. We arrived prior to check-in time. The receptionist was lovely, took all our details and directed us to the outside bar, which was gorgeous. We enjoyed watching the boats sail along the Thames and spoke to a few other people who were there. Our room was spacious, with air conditioning and everything you would need and overlooked the Thames. We decided to stay in the hotel for our evening meal and it didn’t disappoint. The menu was spectacular and was certainly in the top 5 restaurants either of us had ever eaten at (we’ve eaten all over the world). We were perfectly looked after by Arjun. He was both friendly and knowledgeable and treated us like royalty. In fact the service was so good, we ate there again on our second night. Again we were not disappointed.

Superb riverside location in charming town. Very picturesque. Large comfortable bedroom with balcony in new block.I am disabled so the only rooms without stairs were in the new block, quite a distance for me from restaraunt and reception. Food was good but NO mention of Gluten Free options. Lots for Vegans and Veggies but that’s a lifestyle choice, being Coeliac is a disease, and most restaurants make it clear on menus what food is safe for us. Staff were faultless, we will visit again, perhaps take the river cruise.

It was on the whole lovely. A few issues (1) we had coffee there before we went to shop in the High Street. When we came back 2 hours later our early morning coffee cups were still on the table? (2) we had a delicious lunch outside on the lawn by the river - but seemed to be charged £10 for dining outside? Other than those two things - it was a lovely place and we would go again.

Lovely hotel by the River Thames, walking distance to Marlow Town centre. Our room was up 2 flights of steps with no lift, but reception did offer to help with luggage. Good cooked to order breakfast, but a supplement was charged for non standard items like eggs benedict. Standard room had comfortable bed and good toiletries. Nice public areas and outdoor garden by the river.
