About Venue
Maneki Ramen is a Tokyo-inspired ramen restaurant on Ludgate Hill in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, serving modern interpretations of Japanese noodle bowls and snacks from a chef with firsthand experience working in Tokyo. It is Japanese Restaurant of the Year 2023 and 2025, and was described by Observer food critic Jay Rayner as serving "noodles worth getting weird about."
The Birmingham restaurant opened in 2024 as the second site for Maneki Ramen, following the original in Worcester. The interior fuses Tokyo street style with Jewellery Quarter character — clean lines, minimal decor, communal tables, a chef's counter for watching the kitchen in action, and a balcony for groups. The menu is built around bold broths, slow-cooked proteins, and carefully sourced ingredients, with highlights including tonkotsu pork ramen with 12-hour chashu pork belly, miso paitan, karaage chicken, and signature Japanese desserts. The full space is available for exclusive hire.
The venue suits corporate day bookings, team building sessions, private parties, masterclasses, and Christmas events. Seated meals, canapés, and buffet formats are all available. Ludgate Hill sits just off St Paul's Square and is a short walk from Birmingham Snow Hill station and the city centre.
