Welcome to Pier Court; a stunning, multi-functional event space located opposite the iconic Brighton Pier on the seafront.
Built on the site of a former 1920s hotel, the recent refurbishment of Upstairs pays homage to its Art Deco roots with original stained-glass windows and exposed brickwork, complemented by warm teak panelling and modern flashes of colour. From the custom-built Ohm sound system to the diamond-polished shell floor, every detail has been carefully designed to create a unique and spacious venue full of character and light.
The tasteful décor and versatile layout of Upstairs provide the perfect backdrop to curate your ideal wedding celebration. Whether you’re planning an intimate, sit-down soiree or a casual BBQ and bottoms-up party, Upstairs can be hired on its own or alongside our live music venue Downstairs to create a seamless day-to-night experience.
Our seaview accommodation has been newly refurbished and can host up to 30 guests, including the Penthouse Bridal Suite.

We came for the New Years Day disco and had a great time, really good vibes and atmosphere, cool decor and stress-free at all points. Would recommend!

Patterns absolutely made my birthday celebrations in late August! Poppy is frankly, a total legend, helped me out with an area and put together a drinks package for me even though it’s not something the venue usually offers. Went absolutely over and above to help me and our large group out with luggage storage and just generally be super accommodating. The bar team were all lovely too and handled the crazy busy bar really well during the event. Even the security were lush and when we came back to get our bags later in the night the new team couldn’t have been more helpful either. Huge shout outs to the team at Patterns - can’t wait to come back!

We hired the ground floor and terrace area for our wedding reception. All I can say is that the staff, the venue, and the food was fantastic! We had an amazing wedding celebration at this venue and thanks to Gem, Ruby, and all the staff for making our day a memorable one xxx

This was a great venue for a night out, offering free tickets for a Saturday night event in December! Presentation is nice of the lines of wood above the counter and Christmas tinsel is pretty, atmosphere was friendly not the busiest spot in Brighton compared to clubs though if you're expecting somewhere packed.
