We were fortunate enough to get married at Shrigley Hall, and it was the most incredible experience from start to finish. Paige, our wedding planner, was an absolute star her attention to detail was second to none, and she went above and beyond to make sure every little request was taken care of (even the quirky ones, like our royal correspondence table after receiving the King’s best wishes!). On the day itself, the hotel exceeded all expectations. The rooms were beautiful, and with over 60 of our guests staying overnight, everyone said the same. The team made the whole experience seamless, and nothing was too much trouble. A huge special mention has to go to Eamon, who was the highlight of our wedding. He was simply amazing, so warm, welcoming, and attentive, putting every guest at ease. He is truly a credit to Shrigley Hall. We also want to thank Amy, who was outstanding on the day. She helped with absolutely everything, keeping the day stress-free and ensuring the evening ran perfectly. Yes, Shrigley Hall is an older building, so naturally it comes with some quirks, but honestly, the stunning grounds, breathtaking views, and incredible location more than make up for it. You really can’t find this kind of setting anywhere else. We also tried the spa the next day, while a few facilities weren’t available at the time, we can see how lovely it would be when everything is running. All in all, we cannot recommend Shrigley Hall enough, it made our wedding unforgettable. 💍✨

Me and my bf stayed at Shrigley for two nights to celebrate my birthday, and we absolutely loved it . it was our best weekend ever! The spa was fantastic and so relaxing. The outdoor pool was amazing, and the water temperature was just perfect. The food was really nice, and check-in was quick. we didn’t have to wait long at all. Emma and Richard made our stay extra special! They were both so helpful and really funny , they truly made a difference in our experience. All the staff were very friendly, and the customer service was amazing from start to finish. If I had to mention one small thing (which isn’t the hotel’s fault) the bar was very busy, and we couldn’t get a seat at first. Later, we found out from reception that there was a wedding happening, which made sense. We still enjoyed the music and the lively atmosphere. it added to the experience! In the restaurant wine glass not been very clean but we mentioned for the staff and they handled really professional and changed the glass. We’ll definitely be coming back again. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

A lovely, charming hotel tucked away through the back lanes. The rooms have been updated, very clean, and I really appreciated the newspaper-style information booklet about the hotel — it added to the charm. The shower did take a little while to warm up, but otherwise, the facilities were good. The spa system was well managed, with robe and towel provided (though finding flip-flops was a bit of a struggle). Changing facilities were clean and convenient, and both the indoor and outdoor pools were great. The steam room was also a highlight. The only real drawback was how difficult it was to get a spot in the jacuzzi, but overall, it was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience.

I’ve got mixed views on my experience. I so want to love this place as the setting is outstanding and the building, just beautiful. But there is no pride in it. It lacks an identity. The fake flowers in reception, the cheap signage for princess parties and the sparkling gold wallpaper in the lift are a poor choice on someone’s part. This is a serious building and deserves better. It’s shabby around the edges - dirty carpets in the dining room, broken slabs outside, no soap in the spa toilets, broken toilet roll holders in our en-suite and a dead tree as the outlook from our table in the restaurant. That said, the staff are amazing, the outdoor pool is stunning, our treatments were excellent and Julia a particularly wonderful therapist. and dinner in the restaurant was lovely. Afternoon tea was a bit lacklustre with packet jam and what appeared to be shop bought cakes. Lots of reviewers are leaving the same feedback. I in two minds as to whether I would come back. If I did, I would be disappointed to see the same issues.

My friend & I went on a spa day to Shrigley Hall in August 2025. Upon arrival we were told our treatments were at 11am even though I booked them for midday (with email confirmation). We were offered pastries but none were vegan - we got a complimentary drink instead which was appreciated. The pools were lovely, although the outdoor pool needs a seriously good scrub - the grout was thick with black mould. My massage was lovely and the best part of the day by far. For our light lunch we both ordered the Moroccan salad. What arrived was a pile of cous cous with some apricot pieces, heated chickpeas & 4 half slices of courgette & a basil leaf. No butternut squash at all, or mint. When I asked if the butternut squash was hidden inside they said they didn't have any & apologised - why the meal was still being served was confusing as butternut squash was the primary ingredient. The waitress offered some hummus & flatbread to compensate which was appreciated but didn't make up for the extremely poor meal. I would have asked to swap it for something else if there was anything else vegan on the menu but there wasn't. I emailed them after the day about my experience and have zero response despite prompting them a further two times. I'm not normally someone who complains but when you pay a lot for a treat & get such substandard food it's just unacceptable.
