Had an overnight stay with a friend, staff very friendly and helpful. Room was lovely and spacious with a nice seating area for chatting g whilst enjoying the complimentary bottle of wine. Lovely large bathroom too. Used the pool, steam room and sauna facilities in the day of arrival before a lovely 3 course evening meal. After a very nice buffet breakfast in the morning had a relaxing spa treatment before heading home.

Arrived to an absolutely stunning building in beautiful gardens. We arrived slightly early and enjoyed some time around the pool and had a massage (pre booked). Upon check in we were given a beautiful surprise and upgraded from a junior suite to a master suite, we stayed in room 1 and were blown away! The views over the gardens to the front were amazing. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and food was fabulous! The staff are all extremely polite, helpful and very friendly. All in all it was the perfect break for our wedding anniversary. We will most definitely be returning and have recommended our friends take a look for their wedding :) Thank you for helping make our anniversary extra special.

due to a lucky raffle ticket at a charity cricket match for the Merseyside against Blood Cancer society, my husband and i could enjoy a day with spa and afternoon tea in this lovely place. the hotel itself is a gem. lots of history and well kept. the staff is very helpful and Karim at reception kindly printed us a brief information about the past of this gorgeous place. sorry to say, but the spa was disappointing. if we had to pay we might be even more disappointed. it's a fairly small place so the room is limited. as we were not guests in the hotel there was no dressing gown or slippers for us. the changing facilities have partly seen better times. the pool area is fairly decorative but small around the pool if you walk around. the steam room was far too hot. sauna good. the pool water quite cool and the surrounding temperature similarly fresh. jacuzzi was very nice. if you have a bigger group of people around, the facilities get quickly overwhelmed. likewise just a few sunbeds. sadly no mention of treatment so didn't go for any. didn't feel very relaxed after the spa visit which I was hoping for. the afternoon tea was plenty and delicious. good food and drink, staff friendly, efficient and helpful. after all we would recommend a visit for food and drink, night consider ourselves. sadly can't recommend the spa.

Bust car park but quiet in the hotel. Virtually no atmosphere. For such a plush looking hotel it is let down as the food was basic pub grub even the restaraunt. not a great choice. On our second night there was no fish. The cost of food and drink would reflect a higher class hotel than ot is. Some of the staff were great but some ignored us. The Spa is 5 star, lovely, modern and clean. Worth a visit. The hotel is full on contrasts. I think it is geared up for wedding more than anything. Shame as we paid what we felt was a premium to stay and eat
