I turned to this hotel as a second choice when I found out my first choice had lied to me. If I had known what a wonderful experience I was going to have here, it would have been my first choice. Eliza at the desk was so sympathetic she set me at ease immediately. The fact that the hotel has a bulk laundry service at an affordable price played a big role in my choice. Parking was right next to the hotel and very easy to navigate. We had a family suite that was spacious and comfortable. The only deficiency was a mini fridge. We ate dinner both nights at the restaurant. The food was delicious, the decor was amusing, and the service was excellent. Nahbela was efficient and friendly. The location of this hotel made getting to attractions very easy. It was also easy to navigate out once we were ready to move to our next destination. I would definitely recommend this hotel and it will remain on my top 10 list.

Reception was beautiful along with the hotel being clean, staff were friendly and welcoming when checking in and out of the hotel. Our bed in our room was super comfortable. Outdoor seating area was also nice to sit in. Hotel is also situated right outside the train station and is a comfortable 10 minute walk to the centre of town or about a 15 minutes walk into Hoole. Hotel rooms need some maintenance and some parts of the hotel looked like it had damp and mould issue. Our bedroom also had some electric appliances that didn't work for example the towel rack and our bed side light switches didn't work when wanting to adjust the light brightness we had to turn them off at the main wall. The bathroom screen also didn't seem to keep water in and when taking showers we normally walked into a puddle of water after. Warning: This hotel does do a BBQ garden event for 35 pounds per person. The food was gross and limited and everyone that seemed to be there was just after the free booze. However the music was good from the performer who took song requests.

This is a gorgeous old hotel with a beautiful staircase. Lovely room, clean and spacious enough for a short stay. Right at the railway station. Has a bar and restaurant and walking distance to lots of others. We loved our stay there after a long trip, with delayed ferries from Ireland. Recommend :)

The hotel is situated right next to Chester station and only a short walk from the city centre so for this the location is brilliant. Beautifully decorated hotel in a great location. Staff were friendly enough. Room was nice however the mattress was not that comfortable foe me. Highly recommend the morning breakfast buffet, food is incredibly tasty. The food in the restaurant was absolutely top notch and the restaurant itself was a lovely place to be. Loads of choice and staffs were attentive .The hotel is massive extending across more than one building but all joined together, I was on the older part of the hotel which was rather grand the more modern part of the building had some other luxuries. The hotel is huge, with interconnecting hallways. It took me a while to actually locate our room. The room was large and had plenty of storage. No fridge though. No charging sockets near the bed. Out of 3 nights, The room had not been cleaned 1 full day and no tea and coffee refilled. I stayed there in one of the suit in Jubilee Suit area , shower would not regulate properly so it was boiling hot sometimes and somehow I use it. Bathtub was good. Room service needs improvement.

Fantastic location literally opposite Chester train station and so central to all the historical places of interest, bars and restaurants. I stayed in a deluxe double room which was very spacious and had some nice touches like free snacks and a bottle of prosecco on arrival. Also, slippers and a dressing gown were provided and the bed was large and super comfy. However some essentials, in my opinion, were missing from the room like a safe for your valuables and a mini fridge. For the price paid, I would have expected those items as standard. The view from my window was awful as my room backed onto a car park, unfortunately. A minor issue with the bathroom wash basin not draining properly was quickly rectified. Breakfast was of good quality and a wide selection to choose from. Overall, I had an enjoyable stay and, with a few tweaks to the service, would recommend 👌🏾
