Nice location and a good size room on the 4the floor with a view of the castle. Breakfast was standard but good. Staff was very helpful and nice!

This is not the standard DoubleTree as is in the US. It’s ten times better. The room was small but large enough. The hotel staff was polite and friendly. The breakfast is not included so you let them know the night before if you’re going to partake and there is a bit of a discount. The location is ideal for exploring town and the castle. We came to celebrate a wedding anniversary and the hotel staff made it special.

We stayed one night at this hotel while passing through Edinburgh. The location is excellent, in the city centre and walking distance to major attractions. Rooms are typical for the class of hotel, nothing notable good or bad. However what stands out is the friendly attitude and service from the hotel staff. We arrived early in the morning to drop off our luggage before check in and the front desk agent offered to call as soon as the room was ready. The hotel kindly made our room available for check in at 12:30 pm, well before the usual time. All other interactions with the staff were friendly and helpful.

Room was nice and clean. Service was amazing. The breakfast they served was delicious. The location is just right, only few mins away from grass market. Though it was quiet during the day and night. Highly recommend staying at this place if you’re in Edinburgh area.

Very nice hotel, amazingly friendly staff. We had an issue with our booking that was quickly resolved with a smile. And the cookie you get on checking makes the whole experience feel much more homely. You can buy the cookies which I would recommend :-)

Stayed here for a few nights in our trip across Scotland. Rooms were very nice, bathroom shower was something to get used to though. The tub is just slightly taller than usual, and I'm not a tall person so almost fell a couple times getting out of it. Stepping into the tub is tricky as well - use caution the tub is tapered on all sides so step into the middle of it and not closer to the sides! Water pressure in the shower was adequate at best - nothing that's going to blast your skin off but not really a trickle either. The staff was AMAZING though! Everyone was so nice and accommodating to everyone's needs. Breakfast was amazing, fresh items every morning and some items even made to order! The environment and feel was amazing. They have the modern-day amenities and give you history of the building with old pictures as the decor. Best part of it all, after a long day of walking around the city, THEY HAVE A/C!! You don't have to hope the weather is nice to cool down, you can just turn it on and enjoy! Would definitely recommend staying here if you want a nice place and within walking distance to most places (Edinburgh Castle, Royal mile, etc.).

Nice Hilton property in Edinburgh close to the Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. We were here for 2 nights and the stay was comfortable. The room had adequate facilities including a refrigerator and coffee maker. We were offered a discounted price for the all you can eat breakfast at the Bread Street Brasserie restaurant attached to the hotel. The staff here were very cordial. Overall a great stay!

First off, the hotel staff are amazing. Easily the best part of the stay. The rooms are spacious, however a bit more drawer space for clothes would be nice. The bathrooms are small. If you have two or more people in room, there simply isn't enough room for shower kits and toiletries for everyone in the bathroom. The location is amazing. 15 minute walk to Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. Fantastic restaurants in even shorter walking distance.

Good location and nice breakfast but room and hallway were extremely dim which was depressing. It seems pretty outdated. There is a tube light outside my window which is on all night and the room and bathroom are not designed well so it is hard to maneuver around. Things were fairly clean but there is some mold in the corners of the shower.Still, it seems a well run place and the staff were nice and the location was really excellent. We picked it because it was dog friendly but in the end the dog in question was not able to come and then it was annoying to be stuck in these dark and depressing hotel rooms for no reason..
