The Cafe Royal Edinburgh

Nice Victorian pub and well stocked whiskys and various lagers/pints. Nice atmosphere and will surely be going there once again. Highly recommend the Pilot IPA on tap.

This was top on my list of restaurants while visiting Edinburgh. I read a lot about the history and was really drawn in by the atmosphere and vibe. That did not disappoint! The service was lackluster, but overall we had a good visit. We were told they didn't get their seafood delivery that day and they were out of a few items, however the table next to us had one of those items. So that was a little disappointing. We ended up getting a slew of appetizers to split, which worked out perfect. Everything was really good. I would definitely come back here, for the atmosphere alone.

Such an up and down experience First server (man) was gruff and unintelligible. The second server (woman) was sweet and helpful. The oysters were magnificent. Yhe fosh and chips were below average and soft, not crispy. The gnocchi was inedible. Truly, you could could not eat them... rock hard. We had great expectations, but thoroughly disappointed.
