We visited the Royal Yacht Britannia and honestly loved it. It was absolutely worth the ticket price. The ticket includes a free audio headset, and each section is only about 1–2 minutes long, which makes it really easy and enjoyable to follow without getting bored. There were some photos of the Royal Family that I had never seen before, which made the experience feel even more special. Everything was well organised and easy to explore at your own pace. I’d definitely recommend having afternoon tea on the deck. We went for cake and wine and it was such a nice treat. The price was very reasonable and the cake slice was huge. I can imagine the view would be amazing in summer. It was a bit windy when we went, but still lovely. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We went for the last entry of the day, so it was quite quiet, and they kindly offered to take lots of photos of us around the yacht. They were also very helpful whenever we had questions. I genuinely think it’s worth a visit for anyone going to Edinburgh. It ended up being one of the highlights of our trip.

We visited the royal yacht Britannia using a family ticket. The tour is well organized even though it's a self led tour. You get an audio guide that walks you through the various parts in an informative and timely way. A few places can get a bit congested so just be patient and wait it out. Not sure if this works in the summer but certainly worked in the February half term. The audio guides are tailored for both adults and children. Unfortunately we didn't have the opportunity to visit the tea room due to time constraints on our personal schedule so I can't comment. I would highly recommend it as a family day out. For colder months you need a coat as it can get quite cold and breezy as the yacht is on the water. It was great getting to see a little more into the royal family and the British navy. If you're around take some time to visit.
