My now husband and I stayed here for one of the first nights of our honeymoon/elopement trip to Scotland. The staff were so sweet and personable and really made us feel special. The rooms were clean with a lot of character. We had dinner at their restaurant and the food was amazing with great service, then we ordered a full Scottish breakfast in bed the next morning before we headed out, which was also some of the best breakfast we had on our entire trip. We definitely plan on staying here (or at the very least, dining here) again next time we have the pleasure of staying in Edinburgh.

We stayed at The Scotsman Hotel for our honeymoon and it was truly exceptional from start to finish. The staff were amazing; welcoming, thoughtful, and genuinely warm, which made such a difference to our trip. We visited around Christmas and the decorations were absolutely beautiful. The whole hotel felt magical. We were also upgraded to a suite, which was insane and made our honeymoon in Edinburgh even more special. The room was incredible, clean and again beautifully decorated The only thing we regret is not allocating more time to explore this beautiful city. We can’t recommend The Scotsman enough and would return in a heartbeat.

Very clean, city view feature rooms are absolutely gorgeous, incredible view of the city and nice touches of a free drink & bottle of fizz included in room. Great location, staff were very accommodating with requests to decorate the room for my partners birthday. Bluetooth speakers built into the room is cool & our own private window seat bar area in the room is amazing. Bar & facilities incredible, cinema & gym too! Only thing was one of the house keeping staff was very rude to us for being in the lift with our suitcases when he had been waiting for it for a while with the laundry trolley. He was very unreasonable and continued to raise his voice at us, we did tell the reception but they didn't seem to care much Also the king bed is just two singles pushed together with a large uncomfortable crack down the middle.

Really beautiful hotel. Great rooms but some better than others due to the layout of the old building. Extremely friendly staff. Fantastic location. Right at the heart of the shopping streets and literally on the doorstep of the christmas markets. 10min walk to Tram to and from airport. I was considering deducting 1 star for cold breakfasts that we returned in the grand cafe but maybe would have been unfair. Next time we will go downstairs to the buffet breakfast which bother family members said was excellent.

We stayed for one night in November, we were greeted by Ivor who we had a lovely chat with, all the staff were so friendly & are an asset to the Scotsman, our room was huge with a turret in which we sat & enjoyed our complimentary Prosecco . We enjoyed a lovely breakfast in our room which we chose the night before from a menu of both hot & cold choices. The bathroom although not huge had my favourite Arran toiletries. The Scotsman is in a prime position for both the the Royal mile & princes street, We hope to return very soon.
