Had a lovely afternoon tea, at red lion, this week, great sandwiches, scones were excellent . Only complaint was finding somewhere to park, what with one way roads and bus lanes, suppose it's ok if you know Colchester .ten out of ten to red lion though

The hotel it self is very cozy, very nice place and dog friendly for good price. The receptionists we met were absolutely amazing, explained us everything and let us check in earlier. Defo would recommend this place if ypu dont mind some noise as is on the high street opposite to some nightclubs and get get loud

I spent 5 nights at this hotel and let me tell you it was cozy as it can be, the room was quite hot but that made sense I arrived at the UK just when a heat wave was going through, the staff was polite and respectful, they were also really helpful and guided me through town, the food was delicious and they're quite fast at bringing it to your table. The room was clean and they made sure I always had clean towels. The building is old, sure, the floors are creaky but that doesn't really ruin the experience. I would definitively book here again!
