Had a really great stay last night at the County Hotel with my wife, we were staying and going to watch Duran Duran at Chelmsford city racecourse. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the rooms though a bit small were fine and all necessary facilities available and finished off by a freshly cooked breakfast with quality ingredients this morning, thanks to all the staff.

We have been very impressed with this hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Everywhere so clean. The lunch we had was very good and the waiter was very attentive. We live In Buckinghamshire and each time we visit friends and family we look forward to staying at the County Hall. A big thank you to all the staff who work there.

We had a 70th birthday party in the Crystal room with 90 guests. I paid them to do the food which was plentyful and tasty. The staff were amazing. We all had a great time.

A lovely place physically, decor, space, light. Excellent team serving, helpful, friendly, attentive without being intrusive. Awesome 3 course fixed menu. All in all, just go and lunch, you will feel better for it!

I came here for an afternoon tea and I had the savoury option. It was really great and I was absolutely stuffed and couldn’t finish it all. The mini fish and chips were great. The tea was lovely. But it isn’t an afternoon tea ‘experience’. Certainly not when sat in the corner of the conservatory overlooking the car park. The room was empty so I’m not sure why they put customers in that section first. That being said, you get what you pay for and it was tasty and filling.
