County Hotel Chelmsford, Kent Room

I rarely leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience. From the moment I arrived, the customer service at this hotel was shockingly poor The manager on duty was dismissive when I expressed my concerns. Instead of apologizing or offering any kind of solution, they just shrugged and acted like I was being unreasonable. Overall, this hotel desperately needs to retrain their staff on how to treat paying guests with even basic courtesy. I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

This hotel is advertised as 4 star 🤔 I’d be surprised if it was a 2 star, the room we stayed in had a horrible musty smell which hit you as soon as the door was opened, the shower had zero pressure, the taps were rusty, there was hair in the plug hole, the paint on the ceiling was peeling, the walls were paper thin and we was kept awake by a couple of lovebirds in the next room and I’m pretty sure that the bed needs to be changed as all we could hear was the squeaking of the springs for what seemed like an age but was probably no more than 2 mins😂 the overall condition of the rooms was very dated and needed a refurb at least 5 years ago, the carpet felt gritty under bare foot which give me shudders so I put socks on and I can’t describe how dirty my socks got from walking on said carpet, the staff were unapologetic and just said it’s been noted and will be passed on to housekeeping, the foreign lady on the front desk was abrupt and very difficult to understand as she spoke far too quickly for me to understand, my advice would be try a premier inn or travel lodge they are cleaner and more up to date and far cheaper
