Possibly the best Sunday roast beef dinner I've ever had. Service was slow but it was very busy on the day and staff were very polite. The only negative is that some dog owners do not pick up their pets mess in the garden and with children running around this is thoughtless.

Booked an overnight stay with the Ivy due to meetings in the area. Brilliant stay from start to finish. Staff were superb - I didn’t arrive until around 8ish in the evening. Room was spotless and comfortable bed and slept very well. Staff were super friendly, welcoming and very helpful and attentive. The food was superb I had dinner and breakfast with them on my arrival. The fish pie was excellent quality. Great stay from start to finish Would very happily stay again! 10/10

I came here for food with friends. Staff were great, couldn't fault the attentiveness of the bar/waiting staff. Bit disappointed in the food though. A small fish pie with just a couple of pieces of salmon in it and 2 prawns served with an awful lot a cabbage mixed with leek I think. That was it. Not quite what I expected, pie was nice enough but I would say overpriced for what you got, especially when I saw how great everyone else's food was and the quantity !🫣

Took my family here for lunch. Very friendly staff and nice old pub feel inside. Good food and good choice of Gluten free which my wife was impressed with. Portion size was very good, adult fish and chips was massive. Will hopefully go again.

Visited for dinner and the food was delicious, the decor is cosy and together pairs for a nice warm evening. Found the service to be less than desired as no one greeted us upon entering, and the staff seemed to just chat, congregate on phones at the bar instead of checking in on paying diners. One staff wasn’t in matching uniform and was behind the bar on his phone distracting staff our entire dinner. I can appreciate staff culture and comradery but not if impacts the dining experience. We waited while for the - delicious - food and I’d expect at least a “just letting you know it’s on its way etc” rather than looking to the bar to see the staff all just on their phones chatting together. Anyway, it’s a lovely pub with a great menu, clearly a great chef but just seems some servicing tweaks.
