The Spa Hotel, The Churchill Room

My partner and I had the most wonderful experience here on the weekend & night of Saturday night 17th January. The room was exceptional , it really was. We paid for a standard double room and the room we received was so spacious. We had a chairs in it and it was more like a suite in my opinion. What I wish to highlight in this review is the restaurant & their staff. I can not reccomend them highly enough. Every staff member was kind , patient , friendly , their customer service was fantastic & nothing was too much trouble. They made us feel like the only guests in their restaurant. I asked especially could I have a burger and chips , as opposed to the A La Carte menu & I must be honest I felt very bad asking. The chef especially made me a bacon cheeseburger and chips kindly. It was the best burger I've had in my life - it was simply delicious , the meat was tender , the chips with it were unlike any chips I've ever had. I was told the chef makes the chips from scratch - I can personally vouch for the fact that that is true - exceptional! The starters from the A La Carte menu - Wow! The standard was simply so so high , and they were innovative compared to any starter I've ever tried. They tasted better than some top restaurants I've been to in London , master chef level. My partner had gnocchi for his main meal - he was blown away. If you stay at the hotel and do not eat at this restaurant you are seriously missing out ! Do not let that happen ! The pool, sauna and steam room are also great - very well kept , relaxing and again a high standard. Lastly my experience having a wax on Sunday morning ( when we checked out ) was also very very good. I was pampered , and the service was wonderful. I felt so relaxed , looked after I almost fell asleep! Thank you - having had a really stressful few months personally at points it's just the weekend I needed. My partner was very kind to spoil me. I do apologise for not mentioning names here - I loose everything and lost the receipt with the name of of my server - I hope you can find out whoever was working that night serving room 108 and show them this review & the chef Thank you - I can not reccomend this place highly enough - I reccomend it to you unreservedly!

We had the most perfect pre-Christmas day out at The Spa Hotel, and it was exactly what we both needed! We spent time in the new wellness suite, which is beautifully designed and really relaxing, and enjoyed the most wonderful massages! We rounded the day off with afternoon tea in the Orangery, which was absolutely delicious and such a lovely way to finish. They also catered brilliantly for my gluten-free and vegetarian diet, with plenty of choice. A truly restorative day and the perfect festive treat. We'll definitely be back again soon 🤍

Food was all delicious. Breakfast staff Kiera delivered 5 star service with a smile on her face, lovely lady and an asset to the hotel. The spa facilities were clean. Spa staff all so polite and welcoming. Carla the therapist would gave both me and my husband a neck, back and shoulder massage was exceptional. Would highly recommend a treatment with her. Only disappointment was from the bed, the mattress was extremely hard and very uncomfortable. Have woken up with a sore back! Really beautiful hotel, situation a 20 min walk from the town. Really enjoyed our 2 night stay, Christmas shopping and relaxing.
