I found the rooms clean and quiet. Looked like a fairly recent redecoration had been performed on the room. The furniture in it was cheap, but then this is a budget hotel. Rest of hotel was nice due to original grandeur of the hotel. Breakfast good, but found evening meal a bit lacking in choice. As my daughter said it reminded her of meals at primary school.

The room I got for a solo trip was quite nice and spacious. The only negatives about the room was that the shower glass had recently been replaced (or so I guess as there were still stickers on it that suggested those should've been removed after installing the glass) and that the closet door didn't want to stay shut. There was also a door connecting my room to the one next door. Despite the door being locked and shut, it didn't stop the noise from next door seeping through. As I didn't have the same issue with the people on the other side, I have reason to believe it was the connecting door that was contributing to it. Location wise it's very nice. Shopping centre is near, pubs on nearly every connecting street. Nearby walk to some lovely sights. The lounge from the hotel is also very nice and spacious.

booked the Adelphi as a budget option before moving to a more modern hotel, and after reading the reviews I was a bit worried. In fairness, the hotel itself is beautiful and actually reminded me of the hotel in Home Alone with its old-style charm. The room, however, wasn’t up to modern standards. The window had noticeable black mould and damp, and the bathroom had a very strong bleach smell. On the positive side, the shower was excellent and the bed was comfortable. The staff weren’t the friendliest, but at the end of the day it’s a budget hotel and you really do get what you pay for.

Amazing location. Good size rooms - ours was pretty modern. Price good too. Be aware that it's right in the v middle of the city, so it's V busy. I'm giving it fewer stars because of things like the breakfast having no veggie sausages/options (you can get a much better, much cheaper, veggie brekkie very near by if you can deal with Spoons). Also, stupid pay to use WiFi - this isn't the 2010s, it should be fast and free. But.. the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms and bedding all v clean. I kinda hope they don't tart it up too much as it is affordable and such a great location.

Only this place has going for it location. Check in Dont come at 3pm to check in you are looking at 30-40min wait. They are card only which is fine but you have still fill out a form with details that they have from your online booking. Rooms Very out dates room had no big light just two lamps. Wall paper peeling Miss match bathroom yes they still have the off white/brown bathtubs and sink. Heating controls warn tho but some would say too warm. Beds are outdated & mattress no thinker an a hostel. Halls & bar My friend had the hall reminded her of the horror film "The shinning". The bar is like a social club at a rugby club.
